Close Only Counts In Quoits And Hand Grenades

....I saw this beautiful Burke 4 x 6 and thought " wow that's the picture that Wheaties used to create their 1934 Gold Medal Foods Premium of Odell Hale so I purchased it , as any nerd would do , and when it came I dug out my card and saw right away that the uniforms and location were not even close. On the bright side , it's a gorgeous bright clean Burke 4 x 6 of Odell Hale in a great pose. |
Glad you like it in spite of the faulty memory :) If you have a keen eye, you can pick out a great many of the Goudey issues of the mid-1930's that feature Burke's images and pick up the corresponding photos relatively cheap.

...I don't yet own a 1933 Worch Cigar Premium photo/card of Marv Owen ; I've never seen one and I don't even know if they exist . But I'm pretty sure that this is the photo they would have used to make it , if they had ever made one. ..does anyone know if there indeed is a Worch Marvin Owen ? Thanks , optimistically yours , MikeGarcia ... |
