This M101-2 came with something I've been looking for a long time, but was curious as to who Mr Charles Barker is. Anyone?

Picked these up from a couple of board members, thanks Tom and Cory. It also seems I have accidentally started a Joss back run so if anybody has any for sale in this range, please send me a PM.

Congrats Aaron on the JJ! Looks amazing. One of the all time great cards no doubt.
I also had this guy left without a signature today. Turns out it looks even better than I thought it would from the ebay pics. What I thought was a right bottom corner tear is just a crease. Compare to the last couple 3's sold! |

These are from a NEW friend and great trader, Jeff R. :):) Attachment 266445 Now most T206 collectors don't get to excited about Dan McGann, but this combo made my day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great, Scott  |

Great Cobbs. I can't get over how these two cards have nearly IDENTICAL wear on the corners. It's almost like they have traveled the earth together, one atop the other, for 110 years. |
Quote:
It amazes me how a card could get that much corner wear and have no creases. Seriously how is it even possible. |
Quote:
Beautiful Cobbs, by the way! |
Sliding around in a cigar (or other) box, drawer, etc might also yield corners like those.

My latest is rather humble by comparison...my first DeLong of one of my favorite pre-war players... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d0cf23c85d.jpg Special thanks to Brian Van Horn for a smooth transaction and for working with me on this purchase...your patience is greatly appreciated... Happy to add this one. The crease isn't too bothersome for me, and kept the price down.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2e535af4af.jpg

and a Matty Polar Bear T205 for my set... Quote:

That's a beauty!! As a Matty collector I still don't have a T205 I'm thrilled with. Nice pick up
|
Nice cards, guys. I really like the Peaches, Patrick.
|
Thanks guys!
Happy to knock one of the highest priced catchers off my list...still waiting to pick up an Irv Lewis T207 at some point. Ironically, both were Boston National players, although Irv never actually played in a major league game.

That's a great looking T205 Matty. Awesome pickup!

Two more Evers Chicago Shirt for my growing back run -- beaters for sure and hopefully just placeholders, but great to acquire two of the more difficult front/back combos. Thanks Luke!!
Still need many more, so please email or PM me if you have any you want to sell/trade. |
Congrats on the T205 Matty
Congrats Leon on that nice looking Matty T205!

Kevin, I hope that is real, but I don't think so.

kevin.....
I have seen similar cards like yours.....please don't take offense, but I believe your card is not "correct":)
cardboard looks not authentic even at first glance.....unfortunately ....:o send it to me if you want me to check it out.....glad it was free:) |
All Good - The person who sent it to me is a fantastic guy with whom I have bought a bunch of stuff from in the past couple of months. Assuming it is no good, it was without malice. I am no worse for wear. I just got a kick out of the over print.
I was all excited about being able to post on the main page :) |

I just picked up a treasure trove of 1940s Japanese cards pasted onto album pages here, including most of the big name hall of famers (Kawakami, Betto, Besho, Oshita, Starffin, etc) of the era. 29 cards for a total price of less than $50 US including shipping. This is what I love about collecting here: you can still find scarce vintage gems for extremely cheap prices here (granted they do have paste on their backs, but they are still beautiful). Similar MLB stuff would be out of my price range. Put some more close up pics of individual cards here: http://baseballcardsinjapan.blogspot...rom-1940s.html |

I just got the 5th member of the my Rustlers team(Al Mattern). Now I just have to decide if I just want one of each of the nine players or try to put together the master set.

Jon, that Ruth has good color and eye appeal for an 8! The card isn't a four due to lack of color or registration, that's for sure. Beautiful beatiful card. Congrats!

Last night, as I did my daily Cobb-check on eBay, my heart skipped a beat when I saw this card up. I had to do a double-take to make sure that it wasn't the Wagner that has been on eBay for a bit. I don't really know exactly what it is that I hope to find on these daily searches, but this one fits the bill. I couldn't hit the "buy it now" button quickly enough.

Orly,
That is fantastic. Getting this today has my hands shaking when I opened the box, so I know how you feel. It has been a long time since I added to my Harry Sutor run, and having Weaver in it is a bit of a bonus. |
I don't get usually jealous when I see all the nice pickups - I'm happy with my collection and you can't have everything - but I'm going to make an exception for Ed's San Francisco team card. I am bright green.
