FRANK THE TANK....what a complete JACKITY JACK ASS..You my friend are an idiot.:)

I gave you the benifit of the doubt, but now I am convinced you are a forger or are in bed with the criminal element and knew damned well what you were doing as a seasoned Autograph dealer (term used loosely), buying 30+ Christy Matewson cut signatures and trying to resell them as authentic. I told you not to be stupid you moron.

As a collector, I welcome you to sue me jerk face. It is of my opinion, By hiding behind your partner and her law degree, you are a crook and are not looking to confront reality.

What's amazing is that he claims this attorney is his business partner - and she doesn't dispute it.

Exhibitman 08-25-2011 02:39 PM

Dear Ms. Brown:

Might I suggest that you crack open a law book before threatening people. Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act of 1996 [Title V of the Telecommunications Act of 1996, 47 U.S.C. § 230(c)(1)] provides immunity from liability for providers and users of an "interactive computer service" who publish information provided by others: "No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider." In Carafano v. Metrosplash.com, 339 F.3d 1119 (9th Cir. 2003), the court upheld immunity for an Internet dating service provider from liability stemming from third party's submission of false profile. In Batzel v. Smith, 333 F.3d 1018 (9th Cir. 2003) immunity was upheld for a website operator for distributing an email to a listserv where the plaintiff claimed the email was defamatory.

In other words, tell your client to pound sand.

Exhibitman 08-25-2011 02:41 PM

Or, as we lawyers would really like to say:

Great. Let me get this down. Delete all threads about your client... Oh, wait! I got a better idea. Instead of that, how about I send you a hobo's d**k cheese? Then, you sue. Do your thing, file your case. Go to town, man. Go to town! In the meantime and as usual, go **** yourself.

thetruthisoutthere 08-25-2011 02:49 PM

May I remind you, Frank, that you started all of this with your "Dead on" Babe Ruth signed note.

And what about ACE (Justin Priddy), Frank? Did your lawyer send him a letter, too?

We all stand behind Leon, Frank.

I wanted to correct myself here; the comment written by Frank in reference to his "Dead on" Babe Ruth was posted in the other thread titled "Authentic or Fake, You Be The Judge."

But nonetheless, Frank still came on here and paraded his "Dead on" Babe Ruth, which initiated us looking at his website where the Silver Certificates signed by Babe Ruth (certed by ACE) were discovered.

I hope you do file a formal complaint, Frank. I'm sure there are people who would be happy to hear about your fraudulent business practices.

I'd pay good money to see Frank Prisco on the stand answering questions from Jeffrey Lichtman. :D

All Frank had to do was answer the questions posed to him on this forum about the Ruth and Matty sigs...instead he ignores them (all the while checking in to the board..anyone can see that on his profile page..he's reading the forum right now) and now he's escalated things to a point that he may hurt his own business more than he knows.

By the way, Frank, we are still waiting for the results of the ACE certed autographs that you claimed you were sending to JSA?

What are the results, Frank?

In the beginning of this thread you "Thanked" Dave after he explained to you why those Silver Certificates could not possibly be signed by Babe Ruth and yet you have your lawyer send Mr. Leon Luckey a letter demanding removal of this thread.

Frank, what do you think the consequences for you should be for attempting to sell Silver Certificates issued after 1960 signed by Babe Ruth?

What kind of person are you, Frank? The collectors here who contribute their knowledge of collecting and autographs have done all they can to educate you and what is your reaction; to have your lawyer send Mr. Leon Luckey a demand to remove this thread!!!

Did you have your lawyer send a letter to ACE for authenticating those Babe Ruth signed Silver Certificates?

Then your contribution to the other thread (Authentic Or Fake, You Be The Judge) about your "Dead On" Babe Ruth continued the thread and now you want it removed.

No way!!!!

Wite3 08-25-2011 05:37 PM

How about people jump over to his Piedmont face book page and start posting there. He did post Tuesday. Maybe give his followers a heads up that he is now "missing."

Joshua

Seems he signed up for a new auction site too...webstore.com

Wite3 08-25-2011 05:41 PM

Oh...how about leaving him a review on his yelp site to help him out...

I am not so sure the adage "all publicity is good publicity" is true in this case.

Wite3 08-26-2011 07:25 AM

I clearly remember Mark Finn and this guy...it was just awful...Frank is one of the bigger scam artists around and would love to see his business shut down for good.

Joshua

RichardSimon 08-26-2011 01:41 PM

Joshua - can you expand on that Mark Finn story for those of us who don't know it?
Was he in business with Frank or a victim of a scam??

I wouldn't know his age, but there is a photo of him (Frank) and Spence on his website.

check that, is he 46?

Why are there so many sleazebags in this hobby? Though it is kind of nice to be in a field where lawyers look clean by comparison.

Aesop's Moral:
A man is known by the company he keeps.

There are now two negative reviews now on Yelp about Piedmont Sports.
Frank and Ms. Attorney you would have been better off letting sleeping dogs lie. (Another Aesop? I don't think so, but you never know :) )

Wite3 08-26-2011 05:04 PM

Memory has been shot lately but if I recall Mark was a victim of Frank. Bought some stuff from him off ebay and Frank screwed him, kept his money, split the lot, and relisted the cards. I may be off but someone on the non-sports side might be able to answer better. I am not over there that often anymore.

Wite3 08-26-2011 05:06 PM

I almost feel bad for Spence now...like someone said..."company you keep"

thecatspajamas 08-26-2011 05:47 PM

Joshua,
That may have been the infamous Steve Schwartz you're thinking of that ripped off Mr. Finn (who is indeed much more active on the non-sports side of the boards). Lots of back-and-forth exchanges on the Non-Sports boards over that, but the only reference to Frank Prisco that I could find in the archives on the NS side is the one that Dan pointed out earlier.

Frank, did you also ask Justin Priddy (ACE) why he authenticated those Babe Ruth signed Silver Certificates?

Frank: Justin why did you authenticate those Babe Ruth signed Silver Certificates? I pay you good money to do the job right.
Justin: Uh, duh, duh, uh,,,, gotta go Frank.

Yep, it was Frank that ripped him off...here's the thread with a screenshot of one of Frank's previous ebay accounts.

No worries. Which stack will this one go in? :)

Shoeless Moe 08-26-2011 10:17 PM

I can see it now.......

Judge Landis: *Consider yourself in Contempt!*

Leon: *Colonel Brisco, did you order the Cincinnati Red (Mathewson Auto)?*

Judge Landis: You *don't* have to answer that question!

Col. Brisco: I'll answer the question!
[to Leon]

Col. Brisco: You want answers?

Leon: I think I'm entitled to.

Col. Brisco: *You want answers?*

Leon: *I want the Ruth!*

Col. Brisco: *You can't handle the Ruth!*
[pauses]

Col. Brisco: Son, we live in a hobby that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with mitts. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Atkins? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for the suckers who buy the fake autos, and you curse the Net54. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That some poor suckers fake Ruth, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don't want the Ruth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the fake autos that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide them. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a Slabbed Card, and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.

Leon: Did you order the Cincinnati Red x13?

Col. Brisco: I did the job I...

Leon: *Did you order the Cincinnati Red x13?!!!!!!!*

Col. Brisco: *You're Goddamn right I did!*

slidekellyslide 08-26-2011 11:15 PM

Bravo Shoeless! The funny thing is, I actually watched that movie today on AMC.

docpatlv 08-26-2011 11:20 PM

Well done Paul...now that's pretty damn funny!

Big Dave 08-27-2011 03:46 PM

Sure looks like I opened a can of worms in regard to the Babe Ruth Silver Certificates.

Over 10,000 hits equals a lot of words being spread around.

Frank should have followed up with what he said he was going to do, if those statements had any basis in fact.

From Piedmont's website: "Purchasing single and multiple cards, in addition to autographs and other memorabilia. Contact us today!"

Would these qualify as other memorabilia?

If anyone wants to ask Frank about his dealings he will be attending this Plaxico Burress signing event...maybe Frank can get some tips about jail when he is finally nailed for mail fraud. He rsvp'ed yes to this event according to one of his facebook accounts.

So I was given this in 2001 and have been donning this on my walls not ever even think it might be a forgery. What's everyone's opinion on this? The talk of the Jeter forgeries in this thread had me questioning my own.

We've all been there. I had a fake Mantle in my son's room for 3 years. Embarassing. When I learned I took it right down.

You want to replace it with an image of a real Jeter signature?

I can send you a high res scan of a real Jeter signed 8x10. Make an 8x10 photo print at Walmart and replace the fake. Under glass no one will know it is a photo reproduction.

Or you can spend $500 and get one from Steiner.

RichardSimon 08-31-2011 09:05 AM

Or you can spend $xxx and buy another fake one on many websites and many auction sites.
I am virtually certain there are more bad Jeter autographs on the web than real ones.
