What do most of our forum member do

When it comes to protecting your collections ?

As I see it their are several options, rider to you homeowners insurance policy, safe, safe deposit box or big gun?

Thanks !

Not sure most people want to post on a public forum where exactly their collection is stored, but the insurance part is important. I have coverage under a Chubb policy for fine arts/collectibles. Gives some piece of mind.

When I had a relatively valuable collection I kept it in a Bank Safe Deposit box and otherwise, didn't insure it. All of the scanned cards were online and every several months I would go visit my cards at the bank, sometimes bringing them home for a few days to fondle them. Did that for 15 yrs and it was fine....but do what gives peace of mind :)...

Can I answer all the above?

most times its a fire or sewage backing up that gets your cards, if their not stolen anyways. For me it would be, ah well they burnt, time to collect some more.
