I was looking for a thread similar to the ones already created for pins, pennants, magazine premiums, and other great memorabilia threads. But I didn't see one. So I hope you will post your photos here. I'm hoping this can be an educational thread as well, for people hoping to learn more. I have learned a ton from the before mentioned threads. Cheers!

Below is my George Michael collection (broadcaster) Type 1 photo of Joe Dimaggio sliding past Frank McCormick in the 1939 World Series.

If there is already one created, please let me know!

That Baker is stunning. I have sold or traded most of my Type 1 photos. I had far too many and decided to keep only those I found aesthetically pleasing These are some of my favorites I've managed to hold on to. Jackie Robinson 1947, Clemente spring 1955, Clemente 1960 by Les Banos, Hank Aaron spring 1954, Kaline 1955, Mays in Puerto Rico 1955, Babe Ruth 1926, Oscar Charleston 1954.

These are all great photos! Thanks for contributing. Tommy Lasorda RIP.

Great shot of HR Baker.

And I will say, I found all of those photos you chose to be aesthetically pleasing. WOW

Thanks and I completely agree with you on the book. I actual prefer RMY’s photo classification but we are talking about art so it is really semantic I suppose.

I sold my other Ruths but could not part with that one. To me it’s just so...Babe Ruth.:p Here is the background information I copied and pasted from a website devoted to such silliness.

“In this rare news photograph, Babe Ruth has just caught a baseball dropped from an airplane on July 22, 1926 at Mitchel Field (an early New York airport) in Garden City, Long Island. The New York Times reports Ruth donned an army uniform to drum up publicity for the Citizens Military Training Camps.

Six times, baseballs were dropped from the airplane and Ruth was sweating up a storm, running all over the field trying to catch one. On the seventh attempt, Ruth caught a baseball from 300 feet up, according to the Times account “establishing another world record.” The caption on the photo says the pilot, Captain Harold McClelland was travelling about 80 mph and dropped the ball from about 200 feet up.

Regardless of how high the plane was, it appears to be a true story as evidenced by the photograph with its caption and the July 23, 1926 New York Times story, which is reproduced below.

What couldn’t Babe Ruth do?”

A while back I purchased a large collection of 35mm original slides that were shot by James Drake of Sports Illustrated. These are my favorites. I know I am biased but I believe these are some of the most beautiful portraits of Clemente I have ever seen. As you may know the 1971 iteration of Roberto is my sweet spot so these are special to my collection. I have no idea what they are now worth but I wouldn’t ever sell them. Thanks for indulging me.

Photo is pasted to heavy board by newspaper art dept., in this case the NY Evening Telegram. The partially erased pencil below the photograph is, I believe, Charles Conlon's handwriting. While I don't think he took this photo, it looks like he may have worked on it in his job at the Telegram.

I don't particularly collect photos, but occasionally find photos related to the areas I collect.

- 1934 US Tour of Japan Connie Mack Auto - Over the years I've acquired signed photos from the 1931 and 1934 teams. Never had the biggest names (Ruth, Gehrig, Foxx, Berg etc) but most of the others including HOFs. Here is the Mack

- 1947 NY Cubans photo - It's in rough shape but features the Negro League Champion NY Cubans. I think that Orestes Minnie Minoso who is featured has a good chance at the HOF. Luis Tiant Sr was also on the team and is probably worthy of serious consideration.

- 1946 Tampico Alijadores Team Photo - Most significant is HOF Raymond Brown in the back row

- Alejandro Oms passport - Has a nice autograph along with the photo

I picked up a binder of wire photos from 1938 a while ago. It's taken a long time but they've finally arrived. It looks like the person who assembled the photos was a Cubs fan and the wire photos range from the NL Championship through to the World Series that year.

The first photo here is of Gehrig welcoming Di Magio after a home run in the 9th Inning of Game 2.

The major downside of the collection is that the photos have all been laminated.

It's the sticky laminate, unfortunately. On one of the pages the laminate had bubbled and was a little loose. I used that to see if there was a way to pull the laminate off. I don't think it can be. I'm open to suggestions if anyone has experience with that sort of thing.

Here is a really cool one of Roberto and Vera Clemente. I picked this up on ebay from a seller out of San Juan. There are no details of the event Roberto and Vera are attending on the back, just a stamp from "Bohemia Libre". I'm sure it's from a publication of the same name that ran in Puerto Rico in the 1960s/70s. This is by far and away is the most clear image of Clemente I've seen. Uploading here won't do it any justice but I'll try. With it being 8x10, it blows you away in person. Coming from San Juan makes it all the more cool to me. Thanks for looking and great thread!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2a5f30e227.jpg

Wow I love that Chief Bender, playing in a tie with his sleeves rolled up.

Great stuff!
