Topps 2010 Heritage

Somewhere, may have been on CU, I asked what constituted a master Heritage set. Sellers on eBay selling master sets normally include the base set, the SPs, and the 5 or so insert set. I asked why variations were not included as they are in the Topps older base sets, although admittedly they are planned variations in the Heritage sets. The answer was generally because....

I was not sure how many total cards are included in the full Heritage issues in any given year ( Chromes/ Autos/ Paralleles, ect. ). In the recent REA auction one lot involved a "near master" 2010 Heritage set. I was surprised that it went for $ 6,600, not so much at the amount itself, but because the lot description says it included only 1030 cards of the 1537 cards needed for a full master set...I assume all Heitage related cards issued in 2010.

I wonder if anyone has put together a full set of 1537 ( not even sure exactly what that would include), and how much a full set might go for. Also, wonder what the total number of cards is for full Heritage sets in each year since inception. Anyone know ? Anyone care ? :)

I know there are sites with Heritage checklists but had not noticed a full card count like the one set forth in the REA lot.

Edited to add: I went through the checklist to try and figure out a count, and I was totally baffled by what I was looking at. Thank God I stopped collecting new stuff when I did.

But apparently someone was willing to pay $6,600 dollars for 1030 cards from 2010 knowing they would need 507 cards to finish it.

You should have kept going Bob, at least until we get to the 1972 redo...or maybe 1975. I am determined to stop somewhere in there. ...God willing and the creeks don't rise

I love the Heritage series Al. 1968 was the first year I bought packs, so I loved the look this year. The 1969's aren't bad either:

Did they have the throwbacks? Usually Topps only prints 10 copies or so of each. I know the people who make Master sets on eBay don't count those.

John---I do not see "throwback" on the CL site Bob posted above. Not sure if they are included in one of the categories that are listed

I'm just glad that I limit my collection to Cardinals (except my Topps base set collection). It's hard enough and expensive enough finding all of the SPs, SSPs, variations, etc for just Cardinals.

Al, I saw the REA listing and noticed that I didn't have the Albert Pujols black variation. Now, I have to find that one!

Pujols Black

2010 was the last year I did all the variations, so have that one. Starting in 2011 there were too many....green, red & blue tints...and super scarce SSPs. I gave up. Never did any chromes or autos or inserts or all the panels

Maybe those started in 2014. I know the first few that show up on eBay usually get purchased for $1000 each or so by Keith Olberman.

Glad I missed those :)

Agreed that after 2010 it went haywire with variations, up to and including fake gum stains.
In 2010, how tough is the 463 Braves Team variation? Do not see it show up much.

5 have sold on COMC for up to $26. Last recorded sale is probably 3-4 years ago.
