1960 and 1961 Fleer autographed set

Would anyone have a short list or comments on which cards from the above set would be "tougher" autographs to find. Obviously, the year the player passed away strongly determines that. Anyone familiar with autos from these sets? Any help on players would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not an expert on these sets other than to say I like them very much and have planned on collecting the signed ones for some time. You can find a lot of them around, but of the one's that are "possible" to have been signed I would say the Ty Cobb's would have to be the hardest (if they exist) since he died in July of 61.
Here's a link to Dean's cards for the check list of the cards and some verbage.

Thanks

for the reply. Acquired a set a few months ago with most of them autographed. Cool set. And yes, I am missing Cobb. I am a big T206 guy so it was cool to have the Home Run Baker autographed. Trying to find out more about who else is tough. So far I found Cobb, Hornsby, Melillo and Newsome to be really rough to find. George L.

Well,
The toughest cards of the 1960 set are Vance and Cobb, if it exists. Vance died Feb 1961, but I have seen one up for sale a few years ago. Cobb died July 1961 but I haven't seen a real one up for sale, so I don't know if one exists.

A link to my set, in progress is here

If you have any I need, I would be interested in discussing sale/trade if you are.

I am not familiar with the 61 set.

Best of luck,
Mark

First off, beautiful set. The set I acquired had only 25 so your way ahead of me :D I did notice when 2 things, when I looked thru my set, I do have a Lefty Gomez that I did not see in your pics. Not sure if I was missing it. Next, wouldnt Pie Traynor be a possibility also? Please inform me as I have that as a possible one to acquire? I do have the Derringer, but not looking to sell at this point, will let you know if I ever do. Thought I had Schalk but its a signed 61 fleer, not 60. My 60 fleer is unsigned. Again, loved looking at your set and let me know your thoughts on Traynor and Gomez

George

I have only seen one of these:

George,
Yes, the Traynor and Gomez aren't pictured. For some reason, when I got the unsigned set, neither of those two were present.
Finding the signed Gomez is easy. I just never picked one up.
I have seen Traynor, but he is fairly difficult to find.
Schalk is a little challenging, but not super difficult as i have seen several for sale.
Good luck if you decide to continue
