Posted By: Dave
I just purchased this picture and was wondering if anyone could help me with any information (year, players, possible team etc.) The uniforms say Syracuse RT and the arm of the uniform has what looks to be a large E with an M and either a BB or BA on the bottom of the E. Thanks.

Posted By: barrysloate
Looks to be around 1910, and like Michael said, great stadium view. Need to do some research though. Syracuse would suggest a college team but those guys look a little older.

Posted By: Dan Bretta
These guys all look like they could be college aged to me. Possibly Syracuse university's Reserve Team. E. M. Baseball...now to figure out what E.M. stands for. What conference was Syracuse in circa 1910?

Posted By: Dan Bretta
I've seen lots of early college baseball photos and people just looked older back then...also you saw older men playing collegiate sports at that time so these guys don't all have to be under 23 years old.

1904 U of Nebraska

1929 U of Nebraska

Posted By: J Levine
Okay...some internet searching and a little bit of memory led me to...

http://www.hudsonrivermillproject.org/pages/theme09.htm

which describes the EMBA as the Employee Mutual Benefit Association which was set up in 1924 in the Hudson River Valley area...They sponsored numerous teams to help take mens minds off the economics of the times including baseball and basketball teams and leagues.

I have a feeling a little bit of newspaper research from around the Hudson Valley (Syracuse, Corinth, etc.) might produce some scores, etc.

I think this might be what you are looking for (maybe). I hope this helps.

Joshua

Posted By: Ted Zanidakis
The Syracuse Stars were the New York State League (Class B) Champs in 1904 and this photo does not resemble the pix I have
of them. Also, I looked thru my Reach BB Guides (1909-14), and no luck. However, the team pictured here might have played in
the Stars' stadium.

TED Z
