Wow! A Signed Starffin card? I've never seen one before. Great piece

theshleps 12-12-2017 10:09 PM

I picked up 3 Sraffins over the past 2 months. I've only seen 4 in my life. Would trade one but would take something I really need

What do you guys think of the new Beckett Auto slab? This is purely a question of interest.

Personally, I think the product with the new auto authenticators is top notch. The label designs I am not a big fan of.

And to make it clear, this is literally my work background for over 20 years. I worked for Beckett/BGS (as Director) from 1997 until 2013.

From 2015 until cancer crushed me this year, I was "secretly" building a launch of JSA authenticated autographed cards. I was supposed to go to New Jersey to test everything in February, but was hospitalized January 31st with this *surprise*, and physically/mentally not even able to tell Jimmy what was happening. Frankly, most employers would be furious, but I want to publicly say that JSA has treated me so amazingly well and I thank them immensely.

I am incredibly saddened that the entire new business model had to be moved under another employee and re-start do three weeks before launch. I pray they can get it running any day now, even better than I had planned.

Mark

While the cards/autos I now collect (and literally 2 years ago I last bought one) are mostly pre-war, that Trout minor league card is ***beautiful***.

I have kept a 2009 Donruss Elite Die-Cut Trout Auto (of 100), that graded a BGS 9.5 because he is an amazing player! But while that card is quite rare, your minor league card is virtually unseen UNSIGNED.

Did you get it in person?

Thanks,

No, got on ebay. On ebay now I see 4 unsigned 2010 red Grandstands for sale and none signed currently offered.

Congrats on the 2009 auto /100, any 2009 auto Trouts are special cards. I mostly do pre war as well but have collect Trout some and Aaron Judge + someo ther current Yankees a bit.

mark--i've always been a fan of the beckett holder, with the insert sleeve so the card don't move. however they're phasing out that sleeve, which i'm not a fan of.

and if the below is what the jsa holder will be, then i'm also not a fan. first of all the whole point of slabbing is eliminating the sticker on card part, which i'm not sure from the poor photo below but i still see the sticker....even if it's outside of the slab it still looks very unprofessional.
