Seahawks vs. Falcons

Who do you guys like? As a Falcons fan, Seattle really makes me nervous.....

bigred1 01-08-2013 06:27 PM

Cleamons loss hurts Seahawks defense. They also just seem to be a different team on the road, got exposed by a wobbly RG3. I am taking a rested Falcon team at home.

vintagetoppsguy 01-08-2013 06:30 PM

The loss does hurt them, but I picked Seattle in the NFC throughout the playoffs and I'll stick with that. I like Denver in the AFC.

Runscott 01-09-2013 12:27 PM

Seattle is very strong - I hope it's a good game, but I think they will beat Atlanta by 10+

Scott- tell you what, I'll split it with you and take Atlanta and 5 points....

I have never bet on a football game. I used to gamble imaginary money against the spread each week, and I always lost.

So, basically, you should WANT me to predict a big Atlanta defeat - I'm a good negative barometer.

A wobbly RG3 only had a handful of rushing yards and 84 yds passing...that's hardly exposed.

I like both teams and it wouldn't surprise me which team wins, but I'm rooting for Seattle here. I really do believe that Atlanta is overrated and a bit soft. I know I'll probably catch some heat for saying that, but I think it's true.

I hope Seattle runs all the way to the SB :D

CMIZ5290 01-10-2013 06:16 AM

I will say that the game makes me a little nervous. Not because I think Seattle is better, I don't, it's because of deja vu that seems to be haunting the Falcons for the last 3 years. They play a red hot team in the playoffs that ultimately wins the Super Bowl. Having said that, if Atlanta does win, I think they will be tough to beat at home for the NFC championship....

vintagetoppsguy 01-10-2013 07:45 AM

I think Atlanta has the better team, but the better team doesn't always win. Look at last year's Super Bowl winner - the Giants. The Giants? Really? At 9-7 were they the best team in the NFL? Not even close! But they were the hotter team. Seattle has the hot team now and I'll go with the hotter team every time. Go Seattle!

Hot yes, but they have had two consecutive 3000 mile trips and have to play a 1 o'Clock game on the East Coast.

If it's a shootout where both teams are in the 30's I like Seattle because it suggests Atl can't stop Lynch/Wilson.

If it's low scoring, low 20's or under, I expect Atlanta to prevail.

I like your logic. Basically, Atlanta's going to score around 21. Can Seattle beat that? I'm going with 31-17, Seattle

It's time for the Falcons to show if they have any mettle. A home playoff loss to the WC team coming off the best record in the conference would be more of the same. Time to step up, hot Seahawks or not.

+1

Runscott 01-12-2013 11:05 PM

Well, I went 0-2 today, which is really bad for the Falcons - even I can guess right half the time :)

HRBAKER 01-13-2013 12:15 PM

Hey Scott,

So far you are right on the money about what the Falcons are going to score. :)

deebro041 01-13-2013 12:43 PM

Every tackle Atlanta makes they try to strip the ball. This could bite them down the road sometime.

There's a LOT of football left TODAY.

I've seen this movie before, same ending.
What a game.
Holy Moly, what a final few minutes.
Now can they hold with .08?

HRBAKER 01-13-2013 02:16 PM

Hats off to the Falcons!
I can't believe it!
RISE UP! :D

freakhappy 01-13-2013 02:17 PM

Other than the last second fg, that's the Falcons and Seahawks I remember...just too little too late. Congrats to the Falcons...next up: 49ers :eek::eek:

Runscott 01-13-2013 02:41 PM

Wow. Stunning that kicking off with 31 secs left, they couldn't win.

I really hope I go 0-4 and Houston wins this afternoon.

atx840 01-13-2013 03:16 PM

Heart breaking game. Shoulda taken the field goal on 4th-1 early on and bad call on the TO.

Congrats Atlanta.

Icing the kicker works in theory, but you don't want the Kicker to get a practice shot. In this case Carroll just waited too long.

31 seconds...and two times outs...hmmm, as a Denver fan, I found that interesting/ironic. Atlanta pulls off two plays, 50 yards, and a game-winning FG, and with 13 seconds to spare. I can only hope John Fox was watching and felt like a heel. But at least I'm not bitter!

I was shaking my head at that decision as well. He must have been thinking he still had Tebow or Orton or Claussen at QB.
