PSA "express" service

PSA received my order at inflated and mandatory rate and (a few days later) on August 26 finally logged it in, with 5-business-day turnaround. Today is September 7. You do the "math."

Evidently the people who get paid for their opinions also have their opinions on what constitutes a business day.

pawpawdiv9 09-07-2017 12:58 PM

Surprised it was logged Aug26- that was the weekend.
Here what I look at:
Aug28 (Mon)
Aug29 (Tues)
Aug30 (Wed)
Aug31 (Thurs)
Sept1 (Fri)
Sept4 (Mon) --don't count Holiday
Sept 5 (Tues)
Sept 6 (Wed)
Sept7 (Thurs)...and so on.

Hopefully it was sent out Fri, if not Tues...give it another day

glynparson 09-07-2017 01:26 PM

By this point in time,

complaining about psa missing a turnaround time is like complaining water is wet.

sycks22 09-07-2017 02:09 PM

I had a 5 day turnaround seriously take 30 days.

RedsFan1941 09-07-2017 02:11 PM

this is the first i have heard about psa's poor customer service or failure to meet a deadline. your experience must be the exception rather than the rule.

LOL, you forgot the little sarcasm emoji at the end, I fixed it for you.:)

GregMitch34 09-07-2017 02:59 PM

they should have policy of refunding half your fee after 10 business days, and full refund after 15....since you are PAYING for the express service...if they want less pressure, then just charge less to begin with and make express, say, 8 days.

RedsFan1941 09-07-2017 03:02 PM

why should they do that? you've been around, you've read the complaints all these years. and yet you still paid the fee and sent them your cards. so, again, why should they do anything of the sort?

I don't use SGC, so I am at their mercy.

On a 5 day sub I start calling them on day 7. By day 10 they usually start giving me free subs for the delay.

DeanH3 09-07-2017 10:23 PM

I recently had an express order take 10+ business days. I called them about it and they issued me a $20 voucher for a future submission.

Jenx34 09-08-2017 12:01 AM

When do you start counting? For example, tracking showed they received my submission Friday Sept. 1st. Does that day count? Monday/holiday = no. It was just entered into their system today. Do the start ciunting today and ignore Fri, Tues and Wed?

It was a 7-day submission of 15 cards (platinum membership voucher). Just curious when they start the "clock"?

iwantitiwinit 09-08-2017 04:26 AM

They use the word "Express" similarily to the way it's used here "Long Island Expressway".

glynparson 09-08-2017 04:30 AM

When turnaround time starts.

Clock starts first business day after entered. but since nothing is guaranteed you are at their mercy.

Exhibitman 09-08-2017 06:29 AM

Took them five days to enter my order in late August. Their customer service is for shit on turn around. But whaddayagonnado?

Johnny630 09-08-2017 07:39 AM

This will continue to happen all because people want their collections to hold or increase in their value. They know psa brings the most money so they send to them. Complaining won't change a thing. Rule number one follow the money.

And rule #2, refer to rule #1, and so on and so forth.
When your brand is #1, you don't have to care about customer service and promises so much. Only when the $ starts to slow do these things seem to change

Just mailed 3 day priority mail to PSA for a 5 day Express. Should be received Tuesday 9/12

Will update progress

Card received at PSA 9/12/17

Update card processing 9/14/17

Exhibitman 09-09-2017 02:39 PM

The good news is they turned around my latest PSA DNA order quickly.
The bad news is that 1/3 of the items failed.

GregMitch34 09-13-2017 08:38 AM

Update from OP: 12 business days and counting! A full week late, as of now.

I feel you!

After about a 5% fail rate, the last sub was 50% fail, including living players who sign TTM!!!

DONT... TELL... ME... Keating and Corcoran are looking at these, as they would have passed them 100%

ngnichols 09-14-2017 08:49 AM

From what I have seen with my limited exposure so far is that modern cards they can get done within the prescribed times or earlier. If it's vintage, good luck.

I've only sent them 2 cards of my own so far on "10-business day" service and each has taken well over 30 calendar days to get back to me. I've never mailed anything in to Beckett because I live like 10 minutes away from their HQ so I don't know how quickly their receiving department gets stuff and starts the clock on orders, but PSA sure does seem to take their sweet-ass time.

edjs 09-14-2017 10:03 AM

I'll share my one experience. I recently sent my first submission. Following their rules that the turnaround starts the first day that the cards are entered into the system, exactly 10 business days later, the cards arrived at my house. So, my question is: Should I buy a lotto ticket, or did I wear out all my luck?

There is no rhyme or reason. I've gotten cards back early. I've gotten them back on time. I've gotten them back late.

Jenx34 09-26-2017 10:40 AM

Regular Service - voucher

Got my grades yesterday on 15 cards.

Received 9/1
Entered 9/7 (give them credit for Labor Day)
Grades received and shipped 9/25

How's that for 7 business day turnaround?

GregMitch34 09-27-2017 08:40 AM

After I complained twice about 5-day express for a few cards taking 12 or 13 days I got email saying they would offer some kind of compensation (probably voucher)--but wouldn't do it until at least end of month or beyond--in other words, a delay of two weeks or more just to take care of that.

steve B 09-27-2017 10:26 AM

But they're "the best" .............I'm not sure at what, but they are the best. Or so I've been told.

Just had a 5 day "express" log in Sept 28th. Will keep everyone updated how long it takes....

deltaarnet 10-04-2017 09:31 AM

9 days and counting. Process date 9/21

Bigshot69 10-04-2017 06:52 PM

I had a 30 day bulk order hit the processing queue on 9/5. I also had a 10 day regular order entered on 9/26. I’ll update once grades are in.

Mrvintage 10-04-2017 08:16 PM

I have had a 5 day order with 4 cards take 12 business days and one time I had a 221 card 50 day bulk order back in my hands 10 days after it was logged in. I don't know exactly what their system is but I do know that it doesn't always make sense.

GregMitch34 10-05-2017 06:52 AM

Update: last month after my 5-day order (about 11 cards and $450 charge) took 12 days PSA told me they would get me some kind of voucher--if I waited couple weeks. Now it has arrived and it's $50 toward next order. Your thoughts?

Seems fair enough...but you shouldn't have had to ask for it

Exhibitman 10-05-2017 10:43 AM

Not to sound like an old fart, but...I remember when PSA was just starting out and guaranteed its turn time. They would offer a voucher for a free comparable grade for each item that was late. I sent them a very large (at the time) order and it was late, and after much back and forth and flinging of legal poo I received a voucher good for a ton of freebies. I had to scour my collection to find enough cards to fill it. Today I would be surprised if they offered anything at all. $50 is a gift you were lucky to get in the first place when it comes to PSA.

I only received $40, if that's any consolation!
