Baseball Card Display

1 Attachment(s)
Been wanting for the longest to have the right display for my cards...still a work in progress, but I think the rest is cosmetic. Going to replace the SGC boxes with clear ones so you can at least see the first card clearly and add labels...need to replace some binders to standardize...other than that, I think I got what I wanted.

Thanks to my wife for helping me...I am lucky I have a spouse that supports my hobby insanity.

Rob, I like it, very organized!

Nice! What kind of binders are those?

Jobu 02-12-2015 07:21 PM

I like it too but have a question: Do you have something devised to keep the light from that window from fading the cards? Some of them seem pretty exposed.

Thanks!

Bryan, the blinds will be closed most of the time since I am at work during the day most of the time...there would be very minimal exposure...but excellent observation!

That's awesome! May I suggest LED bulbs for the room, if you haven't done so already.

Thanks guys! Brent, great suggestion...haven't done that yet...will def look into that soon.

Everything on this site is in the boxes:

Except the Rube Waddell's...I am putting them up in a separate display (will share when I have that complete).

The binders are every Topps set from 1967-1990, and my TTM collection. Still working on 1967-1969...the rest are complete.

Brent (or anyone else who knows) - what is the benefit of LED's in a collectibles room (I am obv familiar with the energy/ cost savings, but curious why you suggested them for this room). thanks!

Rob - What a fantastic collection and unbelievable accomplishment! Really appreciate you sharing it with us!!

From what I know, LED lights are also free of chemicals or UV emissions.

Rob...sweet display, thanks for sharing!

Bocabirdman 02-13-2015 12:33 PM

Very nice job with your display. As hard as I try, MY collection eventually returns to looking like ten pounds of sh*t in an eight pound bag. It always winds up spilling over the edges of whatever area that has been designated for it.:D

Just a thought, but you can always UV coat the windows too. It might help a little bit. But then again, a lot of fading even comes from indoor lighting, so you can never win.

That is an awesome set up. I can only hope for that kinda of organization :)

Luke 02-13-2015 01:46 PM

Rob, that's a great setup! I have one suggestion: maybe get one of those Penzoni cases and put it on the wall next to the graded shelves. Then you could rotate whatever cards you felt like looking at into and then out in favor of something else. It would just add a little bit more of a display element to the setup.

Robextend 02-13-2015 01:48 PM

Awesome suggestion Luke, it's still a work in progress, so I just might do that!
