Question on Cards with name at top and bottom

While I've been collecting T 206's for quite a while, it wasn't until I joined this site about a year ago that I noticed there were a lot of people that tend to place a higher value or at least are very interested in, miscut cards that have the player's name at the top and bottom of the card.

I was going through some of my cards last night and noticed that I have a Chick Gandil, EPDG back, that falls under this category. His name is full at the bottom and then at the top he has about half his name cut through and showing.

Its a graded SGC 1.5 card. I'm not looking to part with it but was wondering if anyone has a guess as to what (if any) type of premium this adds to the card?

Since the card has the same name at the top, in my opinion there isn't much of a premium, if any at all. Two same name T206s are out there.

Two different name T206s have a following and therefore do sell for a premium which is based on factors of the individual card itself.

Hope this answers your question

I appreciate the feedback. So same name, not a premium, different names there is a bigger market for those. Personally I'm not one that really goes after those, as matter of fact I tend to stay away from them as I view them as just a miscut. I was surprised to see that so many people are interested in them. I guess if you've been collecting T 206's for so long you have to branch out to keep it more interesting.

Again, thanks for the input and if anyone else has feedback I'd love to hear it.

Probably a slight premium. I think the reason it has gotten more interesting than "Miscut-drop two grades" is that people are using them to try and determine the sheet layout of all the different makers and series of T206, reverse-engineering the printing sheets.

your card....

has a slight premium.....if it was a full name it would come with a 2 to 3 x value....half name might give you a 10-20 % premium on the card...hope this helps....post a scan!!!! there is a board member who collects name at tops....he may be interested.....but he likes at least 75 % of the name showing:)

as long its different from the normal card, the premium is there, period. I will pay extra for anything wrong with T206 Taylor.

Thanks for all in the input. When I get home tonight I'll post a scan of it and get your take.
