Darren - That WL Mantle is awesome! Congrats.

Picked up the final lineup variation of the Mays 1967 Punch Outs to now have all four of them:

1967 Punch Outs
Brian-- very nice. I have not pursued the line up variants but I have a full set of the captains and have pursued the pose variations ( Mantle/ F Robinson/ M Alou / Clemente
I think Larry may have had all the line up variations but not sure if that is one of the sets he is selling with REA. Did you pursue the 66 Mays Punch Out in REA ? I ended up with the Stargell. |
May I say that it's nice to see some less than perfectly-centered pickups. Unless a card is miscut, I have never really thought that some "average" centered cards look that bad at all. For some sets in the late 60's and early 70's, I think there were actually more OC cards produced that decently centered ones.
I collect these, just good to see I'm not alone. :D |
Hi Brian,
I love the 1967 Punch Outs, nice Mays examples and congrats on completing the variations. |
I stumbled across this one recently on the ebays by happenstance. Being of Hungarian descent myself, I've always had a soft spot for Mr. Hrabosky. And when I saw that he actually signed this one as "The Mad Hungarian," I just had to have it.

Loving the 54s, Matt. What a great set.
Added a couple of beauties to the collection today that I'm very excited about. https://i.imgur.com/APm7Qcg.jpg?1 |

I bought this Mantle during the eBay 20% off promotion. The seller had it priced a little high but the discount made it a pretty good deal. I bought one of these a couple months ago but this one is centered much better.

I don't generally like 1955 Bowman but I thought this Feller was nice. The 1966 Yaz is an OPC.

Was at Guaranteed Rate Field watching Indians-White Sox on Wednesday, saw Minnie's number retired in the rafters during the game, and for some reason thought of upgrading this card. Used eBay app, found this, and put in a bid. I probably bid too high, but I won it and I love the card as it's a really nice upgrade from my previous version

Hey Mike,
I always loved that 52 Minoso and that's a sweet example. Nice pickup. |

I never purchased Mantle cards before but as fate would have it an acquaintance is slowly letting go of his collection. Picked these up tonight. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1d9284a98f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f9d2be2306.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5f7558359e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...af01b74fe4.jpg

The 57s with the deep green tints are the best.

Peter, I love the different colors in the Snider. They're nice and rich. Well bought.

Sweet card, Dave. Was watching that one. Glad it went to a board member.

Still working on my Dave Winfield collection. This one was perfect until I accidentally dinged the corner when loading it, what a knucklehead I am. And I just love the 56 Topps set so much. I keep plugging away at it, adding stars whenever I find one for a good price. Really like this Enos card.

The Koufax has a corner ding/crease and the Mantle is way o/c, but I got them at an absolute steal, so it doesn't bother me...

Came across an Ashburn starting lineup figure in a charity shop yesterday for $3. The 54 Topps card was a bit more than that, but I still got it for a pretty good deal. Crazy about old Whitey.

In today’s mail from eBayland...a card I have wanted for a very long time, since I was a kid and first got into the old Dodgers. Back then I considered this unattainable, probably because of the whole “last card in the set” hype. The truth of course is that unless you are looking for a high end copy, this card is still pretty reasonable. This will go nice alongside the ‘55 Jackie I picked up last year.

Whitey
FYI, there is also a brown hair version of the Ashburn SL

Picked this up in last week's Sirius Auction and arrived today. Had to negotiate with the home accounting office:) to cover the difference until I sell some things to pay it back. Just need to upgrade my 1956 PSA 6 to PSA 7 and I will have all Clemente's primary Topps issued cards @ PSA 7 or better. The 1955 PSA 6 OC I had is up for sale to help cover the gap and the 1956 PSA 6 is, as well as, a German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel signed photo on Net54.

My first pick ups in a while, and I wasn't charged any duty either! :)
Also, just won this Joe Astroth moments ago. Paid a little more than I had hoped, but at least the seller is in Canada so no fear of duty/import fees. |

Not always an easy thing with this set, but I am trying. |
A sign I may finally be getting serious about the ‘67 set? My first high number:

That Brooksie is a tough one - Nice version of that card. It's the second most expensive Topps regular issue card after his 57 (for me when doing the autograph run)- at least its a nice looking card so even though you have to pay a premium for the high number its sharp looking.

Thanks. I think I got a bit of a deal buying this in an SGC slab. The centering (this at least passes as decent for the issue) doesn’t bother me, and I think ‘67 high numbers in PSA still carry a premium. Either way very happy with the card. [emoji4] |
This was my haul last night to finish off June. The Uecker RC and some Kaline cards I’m gonna TTM as I try to work on his career Topps run autographed like the Brooksie run I did.
Thanks eBay for the 15% https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e3a0a8ef22.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

We had Al along with Ferguson Jenkins this past March for one of the events celebrating our Historic Baseball Trail in Hot Springs. Both were perfect gentlemen and great representatives of the game. Al signed every item with the "Mad Hungarian" tag.
