Sacramento,California collectors show Saturday April 23
 

This Saturday (April 23) there will be a sports collectors show at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 5321 Date Avenue (Just off I-80 / Madison) in Sacramento. Show runs from 9 am - 4 pm. The show is one of the better shows in the Central Valley, attracting a growing number of vintage collectors and exhibitors. I will be set up with Alan O'Connor and Andy Bowers . Sacratomato-ites please stop by and say hello.

Spent a couple hours at the show today. Met another OBCer (nice to meet you, Mark!), bought a handful of '53 Bowman Color, all of which were needed as either upgrades or filling holes, and picked up some shiny stuff... which led to me coming home and spending more money on shiny stuff. Ugh - that wasn't how the day was supposed to go!

All in all it was a good day, though. Nice show within decent driving distance (2 hours), saw some nice cardboard and talked to some nice folks. Had lunch with my mother on the way home, too - highlight of the day, for sure.

Great show today! First time I've been. Glad to see such a great turnout. Thanks to Alan for the Seals/Solons photo at Folsom prison, and to Andy for the '43 Seals program. Great pieces to display in the ol' memorabilia room. Look forward to the next go round.

It was a good show. Definitely more vintage this time around. Hopefully that trend continues.

Picked up a T206 Abstein, a few modern set fillers, and my son tore through a bunch of junk wax and had a blast. Next show in Sacramento is in less than a month!

Nice to see a strong turnout yesterday and enjoyed visiting with the regulars. There was a good selection of material present. The show in Sacramento in May is being put together by a different promoter and I'm not sure of the exhibitors there. Hope it goes well. Steve & Chris' next show at the Crowne Plaza is in August, but there is a conflict with the date for a few of us. See you there in the Fall.

Next year when my daughter starts at UC Davis I may have to fly up for the shows, er, to visit her.
