But I wish his blurbs would adopt the following...

* Get to the point quicker

* More commentary on WHY the forgeries are fakes.

* Expose a few obvious fakes of VINTAGE autos instead of just doing Jeter, A-Rod and Pujols over and over again.

People are being burned to a greater extent on the fake Ruths/Gehrigs/Foxxs/Cobbs than on the Jeters... The rip-offs are in the thousands, rather than just hundreds of dollars.

Interesting videos on YouTube about fake autographs

Posted By: Chris
I appreciate the comments from the various blogs and websites. My main objective for making these videos is simply to expose Coach's Corner for who they really are. I have no interest in explaining why certain Derek Jeter autographs are forgeries. I have been investigating forgeries on various sites for five years now and have discovered it is wasted energy to try to explain to collectors of forgeries why they are bidding on fakes or that they have bought a forgery. They become defensive, obnoxious, etc. I tried that route; it didn't work. I consider myself a Derek Jeter autograph expert. No one, not PSA, JSA or GAI (a joke) knows Derek's autograph as well as I do. I am very good with most autographs. I will explain more in a future video. Thank you very much for any comments whether they be complimentary or critical. I do want to spread the word. In one of my videos I do ask "Steve" from SCD a question about why he writes about a fake Ty Cobb that sold on Ebay, but doesn't write about the obvious forgeries on the Coach's Corner auction site. Spread the word gentlemen. Thank you.....Chris

Posted By: Robert
I really enjoyed those youtube videos. I guess you can't depend on biased print anymore, sometimes you need to take matters into your own hands. Nice work Chris.

The part that amuses me most about CCSA, is that the sole goal of any auction house to get as much money as possible for the consignor. The hobby over the year has come to trust companies like PSA/DNA or JSA and the prices realized certainly shows this, whether or not the authenticating company in question (PSA/DNA or JSA) has refrained from an idiotic mistake that cost the buyer, but really, does it matter? As long as it has PSA/DNA or JSA LOA, the item will retain it's value. Too much power? Perhaps, but I am getting way off the subject here.

Coach's sold two months ago, a Mickey Mantle signed jersey and they got like $1,500 for it. It came with documentation from EACGallery. In that same auction, a Lou Gehrig signed jersey brought far less than that. You would think that if a "not so rare" Mantle jersey could bring $1,500, that the Gehrig would bring $50,000 or so? If that's the case Mr. Consignor, why CCSA?

In their last auction, they sold the following pieces of equipment in signed form: Jimmie Foxx and Ty Cobb signed jersey ($444), Ty Cobbs igned jersey ($163), Ty Cobb signed bat ($148), Mel Ott signed bat ($386), Jimmie Foxx signed pants ($108) and Babe Ruth signed pants ($537).

Robert

Posted By: Chris
Hi Robert,

Thank you for viewing my videos. I will have a lot to say in my next video about the subject you just mentioned. Specifically, I will be mentioning a Honus Wagner and Walter Johnson signed baseballs that just sold on their site. You have to understand one thing, the majority of consignors are probably ex-Ebay sellers who were kicked off for selling forgeries. Many of the Jeter items I exposed as fakes I recognized immediately as coming from sellers who were kicked off Ebay. I report any Jeter forgeries I see on Ebay. Anyone can do it. On the bottom of all auctions is a "Report This Item" option and I use it. I can tell you as of right now, 6:47PM on Nov. 12, 2008, there are absolutely no Jeter forgeries on Ebay. Of course, that could change in the next 5 minutes, but if I find one, I report it. Five years ago, 80% of the Jeter autograph items on Ebay were forgeries and that's a low number. Thanks again for watching....Chris
