T206 Population Reports re: Broadleaf 460s

At some point, I believe it was in 2009, PSA began separating their T206 Pop Report according to different backs. They now even have a listing for Brown Lenox, although they only report one card. But there is no listing at all of any Broadleaf 460s.
Can anyone explain this? They list Broadleaf 350, but not 460. Granted this is a very rare back, but does this mean that they haven't graded a single BL 460 in the last three years? Or is there some other reason that I'm missing?

Maybe they don't know about BL460s?

Brian Weisner 06-27-2013 11:56 AM

Hey Sean,
Wonka owns almost all of them.... And he prefers SGC....And all of Dan's are probably in his binder....
Be well Brian

Ps Several have sold in PSA holders, but they only label them as "Broad Leaf"....

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic; PSA specifies Broadleaf 350, so maybe they just haven't graded any 460s.
Could be the case if Dan and Wonka are hogging all the BL460s. :D

PSA has graded 78 Uzits and 93 Drums, but no BL460s? I never knew they were that hard to come by.

A little bit of sarcasm. PSA does a decent job but I don't think they know pre-war intricacies the way they probably should...but then again, we are a very small part of their market. I don't think Dan and Wonka have all of the BL460s either....

I've got one left, stupid me sold the 60 and kept the raw (nicer card) which later graded 50.

Wow, BL 460s may be rare, but not on Gabby Street's card.

sb1: excellent card; that's the nicest BL460 that I've seen.

That's what I thought when I sold the 60 and kept this one. oh well, it's just a number. This is Sweeney which is also one of the predominant BL 460's if there is such a thing.

Sorry for derailing the PSA thread but I doubt it's going anywhere anyway. There is no way to tell at this point what backs reside in all the umarked slabs.

Sean 06-27-2013 03:29 PM

That's alright, it's worth it to see a nice BL 460. :)

I've seen a few graded by PSA, all without a designation but I'm not sure when they were graded. Looks like SGC doesn't separate the two either.

I did notice that PSA is adding RED to the Hindus now.

Beautiful cards guys.

Added - nicest example I've seen...one can dream :D

Chris, you have a BL 460. Let's see that one. :D

Willis was definitely well loved.

Nice card....that isn't that bad. Nice eye appeal (to me) actually.

cfc1909 06-27-2013 05:11 PM

SGC does separate 460 from 350. The 460 has 1911 on the flip and 350 has 1910 on the flip.

I know the Young is in a PSA 5.5 now but I can't remember what the flip says. It was on display at the National.

Wow! the Young with the back so well centered is a winner!

atx840 06-27-2013 05:36 PM

I forgot about that Jim, nice to see there is a distinction. Nice card.

"Wonka owns almost all of them.... And he prefers SGC....And all of Dan's are probably in his binder...."

LOL, very funny. BTW none of McKee's cards are real none have been graded.

Nice BL460's everyone.

I don't normally post here anymore but would like to correct some misinformation (or at least eliminate confusion).

Several BL460s appear in the PSA pop report under the "Broad Leaf 350" heading.

Examples include Baker, Elberfeld (Glove Low), Griffith (Batting) and Kleinow (Boston), Street (Catching) and Sweeney (New York). (There may be a few others).

The PSA "error" is in defining the category as "Broad Leaf 350" when in fact it is a combined pop report for BL350 and BL460.

Sean 06-27-2013 09:04 PM

Thank you for that explanation. At least I know why I can't find info specific to BL 460. :)

Sean 09-16-2018 10:29 AM

Bump to the front page. :)
