Is 1/16" short too short?

I just got a 1968 Johnny Bench RC, but once in hand it measures 1/16" too short top to bottom. Is there any chance it could have been cut that short originally or is it definitely a trim job? I looked closely at the edges under light and a magnifier, and they all appear the same color. So, just wondering if being THAT short is a no brainer sign, or if it's worth taking to the national to have one of the grading companies check it out…

Thanks!!

FWIW, PSA is being extremely tough with slight factory cut short measurements aka MINISIZERQ.

Appreciate the reply... Honestly can't say I'm opposed to that! I guess I'll just take it and see what they think!

.

A grading company should be able to tell a factory wire cut with a razor blade or other modern cut.

Take another similar condition common and cut one side with a razor blade and look at it with a 10x loop or magnifying glass to see the difference. Cut another side with scissors and check it out with the loop.

Helps you to have a little better idea if the submission fee is worth it...

1/16" is a lot though, seems like the cards are 1/16" long more times than short...

Just one amateur opinion...

If the card has not been trimmed and was cut short by up to 1/16th of an inch both PSA and SGC will assign a numerical grade. However as one person alluded to, PSA has been impossible lately in following their own guidelines.

Yeah, I was thinking 1/16" was really pushing it whether it was trimmed or not. Say I don't even want to have it graded, but just want to tell if it's trimmed or not, can they tell me on site or do I have to send it away??
