Interesting photo pick up

First, let me say that I know nothing about photos. Zip. Nada. Nil. I picked this one up for a different reason.

Seller has IDed it as a 1936 NY Giants, World Series photo. From the back caption, that appears to be correct. It seems like the NY Giants released file photos of the roster to be used by the general media. But the photo is NOT from 1936. It was actually shot during Spring Training of 1932, at Wrigley Field in Los Angeles, where the NY Giants trained that year.

The same photo was used in a set of promotional postcards issued in 1932 by the team.

Seems to me that, in this case, the team made it difficult to ID the correct year. It's almost like they didn't care that we'd be striving for accuracy 78 years later!

I concur. Those offset bleachers, it's gotta be Wrigley LA.

Stating what may be obvious, the photo itself is from 1936

That print may be from 1936, but the shutter clicked way back in 1932.

I assume that's what you mean.

I was talking about the physical item itself, not when the image was originally shot.

That's what I figured you meant. Thanks David!
