Not an expert, but would question why the ink didn't blur into the newsprint paper.

I have no opinion to offer on the authenticity of the signatures. However, I am curious to know why you think that signatures would all necessarily "blur into" the newspaper print? Are there many examples of this? I have tons of signatures on newspaper print in many different kinds of pens (including bold sharpie signatures) and none of mine have blurred into the newspaper print. Granted, none of the ones I have are quite as old as the newspaper print in this post. Was this just something that happened and should be expected on newspaper print from the 40s or older?
