Intriguing Carl Yastrzemski Autograph

I've gone through probably at least a thousand old autograph albums in my life and stumbled across this the other day. Can only imagine what transpired the day it was signed.

First its unique in that the book it came out of was date specific to 1961. Some of the players that signed the book only played one season and a few dated the pages 1961, I'm guessing early 1961 because there were several minor leaguers in the book that never made the cut. Its one of the earliest Yaz signatures I've ever seen.

1961 was Carl Yastrzemski's ROOKIE year , So here is a 21 year old future Hall of Famer signing Roberta's autograph book. Cool in and of itself ...BUT has his mother, father and brother sign it too ?????

He grew up on his mother and father's potato farm eventually playing sandlot ball with his dad. Yaz always maintained that his father was a better athlete then he was.

I've seen a few album pages signed by the player and wife but never the whole family and especially a rookie most likely in spring training. Thought it was cute and wanted to share it.

Perhaps it would if you had two Carl Yastrzemski super collectors battling it out. :D

Probably not to the average HOF collector.

I agree that this would have the greatest value to a Yastrzemski specialist, because the presence of his parents' signatures on the piece makes it more personal.

Yaz Family

I was Happy to secure this one from Mr. Stinson Today... My father's boyhood idol was Carl Yaz, and as a thanks for introducing me into the hobby I try and buy him a unique Yaz item every year for xmas...

Last year it was a beckett graded 1960 Minneapolis Millers team photo, this year this tremendous piece...

If only his name was Roberta! Regardless he will love it!

Carl Sr. Was the player manager of a semipro team in the 1940's/50's and I happened to have found a great photo of the elder Carl with Young Carl and Richard Serving as Bat Boys... Not sure where Hattie Fits into this one, but still wondering how I am going ot display ...

Any ideas???

Have to think there is a photo of a young Yaz with family at the ballpark out there somewhere.

I've shared this before, but...years ago I worked for a utility company in MA...had access to addresses...you can imagine...sent Yaz a card to his 'summer' home...got it back withing three days, signed, and a hand written note thanking me for writing him.
