I met Babe Ruth's daughter the other day!
I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. When I get the opportunity I like to visit local senior homes and show the residents my vintage baseball card collection.
I went to a property the other day and out wheeled Julia Ruth (Babes' adopted daughter), born in 1916 (102 years old). Babe only had 2 children. Julia was very nice and still sharp, although her vision was at about 5%. She remembered Rabbit Maranville, Earle Combs, Tony Lazerri and Red Faber. Haha, she kept reminding me that she liked the American League and not the National League. Anyway, it was an exciting moment that I thought I'd share on the forum. |
That's cool. There is a guy who sets up at White Plains and other shows with a Babe Ruth booth, great guy whose name I unfortunately can't remember, who knows her pretty well. Has told me a few stories about her.

Her mom Claire with Maris and Mantle as they chased Babe's record, IMO an all time great picture.

There was a thread somewhere in here some time back with a clip of her throwing out a first pitch, I think at a Yankees game, and some guy in the thread went off on what a lousy throw she made. Could not tell if he was serious or just looking for a controversy.
