Any New Collecting Projects?

I just realized that I have autographs of all three starting outfielders from the 1909 Detroit Tigers (Cobb, Crawford, McIntyre), so I've decided to go after the entire starting line-up.

Any other new esoteric projects started recently?

That's a great collecting goal! Good luck and please post them as you get them.

New collecting interests- Reds 1938 and 1939 W-711-1

I recently puchased a small group of 1939 Reds W-711-1 cards that included a nice Johnny Vander Meer. On receiving the lot, I realized that I had 3 of the starting 9 players that appeared in both of Vander Meer's back to back no-hitters in 1938.

Thus a new collecting theme has emerged:
I'm now looking for a Johnny Vander Meer 1938 W-711-1 card and either a 1938 or 1939 W-711-1 card of the following Cincinnati Reds players:

Lonny Frey
Wally Berger
Ival Goodman
Ernie Lombardi
Harry Craft
Bill Myers

PLMK if any of you have any of these cards that you are willing to sell or trade. Currently I have an extra Paul Derringer that's available if anyone needs one. See the Derringer card pictured below...

Donie Bush should be an easy one for you to get, I am not sure about the rest. Oh! And be thankful Chas. O'Leary was not a starter :)

I've started collecting autographs of all of the Ohio State football coaches and having fun with that!

McIntyre's also tough. Mine is only a 'partial' - a photo of him from his ca. 1905 photo album, inscribed 'Matty' at the bottom.

Thanks Val....that would be one new project and one old project (but new again). I actually have a handful of cheap miscut and freak post war cards.
