Notoriously Off Centered 1970's Topps Cards
Would like to pick everyone's brains regarding the baseball cards from the 1970's that are notoriously difficult to find well centered. Talking about the front only. I have heard of a few but I know there are a bunch more that I am not aware of. Commons, stars, HOFers...I want to hear about them.
I'll start with the ones I have heard about in my very limited exposure to these years: 1970: Most or all of the all-star cards 1971: Claude Raymond 1972: Hank Aaron In Action 1976: George Brett 1979: Ozzie Smith Which others are incredibly tough to find centered? |
1971 Lou Brock
|
1973 Topps Del Unser Nolan Ryan
1976 Topps Rick Miller Joe Torre Al Cowens |
1972 Harmon Killebrew IA
1971 Lee Maye (not May) |
1959 Bob Gibson

Thanks everybody for you replies so far. Down the road once finances stabalize again I may look to do centered sets from the 70's. I'm OCD regarding centering and am slightly afraid of what I might find!

Many of the lower series IA cards from the 72 set are tough to find centered. Still looking for a nicely centered Mays IA in my price range.

Everyone is thinking it, so I'll say it...the problem with a thread like this is nobody really wants to share their 'secrets,' because then they will suddenly find themselves needlessly competing (and hence paying more) for the cards mentioned here on ebay and/or in other places.
