Another fraud

This seller is playing the "late husband's collection" ploy, auctioning bogus T206, with some action already. She is also auctioning a couple of Shoeless Joes that I do not know for sure are fake but since the T206 are......:D

She would know the value of these cards and get them graded if they were real.

wazoo 10-09-2012 05:26 AM

That Cobb is going to sell for a lot, at least $225 down the drain.

I have reported the T206 but I don't know enough about the CJ or Am Car. Jacksons to report them. Considering the other cards she (?) is selling I would think they are fake too but.....

Bocabirdman 10-09-2012 05:39 AM

Six bogus T206...total bids... $494.76 as I type this.......

Sean1125 10-09-2012 07:11 AM

I'm pretty sure the 52 bowman is on the same stock as the t206's, cracker jacks, Amer Carm's, Red heart, Johnson's cookies, and all the other junk this scammer has listed.

Can anyone verify this?

sportscardpete 10-09-2012 07:17 AM

CJ is awful. Look at all that bidding too!

I reported the T206s from the house this morning. I am at work without eBay access or I would report the rest. Let's at least report the S.O.B. .......:D:D

sycks22 10-09-2012 07:49 AM

This is what's wrong with ebay, someone thinks they're getting a deal on a Jackson or Cobb and once the card comes they're out $134 for a reprint. What a joke.

Prof_Plum 10-09-2012 07:51 AM

Somebody, perhaps from this board, has pointed out the "Play Ball" Shoeless Joe as a reprint.

frankbmd 10-09-2012 08:06 AM

Warning

The auctions seem to be going well enough for her to consider marrying again. If there are any single Board members, watch out, because she is not selling the gun.

As I said, I reported the T206s this morning. I do not have access to eBay at the moment....be a hero and report her(?) sorry ass.

This policing theBay is turning into a freakin' full time gig....:D I barely had time to scroll for listings for me this morning.....

frankbmd 10-09-2012 08:52 AM

Multiple reports submitted for the so called vintage cards. Do you think the SPORT magazines are fake too? I really want to read about Juan Marichal in that September 1964 issue.;)

barrysloate 10-09-2012 09:24 AM

The Sport Magazine I think is real. Haven't heard of anybody reprinting those.

It's amazing on many levels: that people bid aggressively on these cards even though the seller says they are probably reprints; that she doesn't have the time to get them graded but has the hours to spend scanning and listing them on ebay; and that bidders always seem to think they are smarter than the sellers and believe they have just spotted a great opportunity to get a bargain.

Bocabirdman 10-09-2012 09:47 AM

It did make me wonder

This morning, when I first ran accross these listings, I couldn't help but wonder how many of these nasty fakes have been bought by unsuspecting collectors. The fakes are sitting in their collections as centerpieces no doubt. Years down the road when they or their heirs sell off the collection, only then will the bogus cards be discovered, ruining someone's day and posssibly tarnishing the memory of the departed.
