I'm voting Jockey. Pants make no sense for baseball or what I've seen in the period, and boots look like jockey boots. Flat bottomed, thin boots as these appear to be have been jockey style boots for a VERY long time. Though they are a little low.

Hat and pants also look like good matches.

here's one with lower style boots.

and another with pretty good matches.

hard to find photos though.

Uniform just looks too form-fitting and flimsy which describes Jockey attire as opposed to 19th century baseball attire:

I've been wrong before, and I might even be wrong again someday :)

More likely baseball than jockey in my opinion. I have some experience with older jockey images and the belt, boots and outfit are wrong. The cap is also not typical.

I thought jockey too before I saw any of the replies.

Most definitely baseball. Shoes, belt, lace up jersey, and hat all fit IMO..

My first thought was also jockey.

Not likely a jockey, explained

I would expect jockey boots to be like the ones in the color images, which are not lower style, but are in fact longer boots of different color tops and bottoms. Most importantly, I would also expect jockeys' silks to be colored since that is how the owner is identified. Solid colors are usually restricted. The cap is the only item that resembles an item of jockey apparel, and that is not quite right in my opinion.
I too may be wrong and this may not be a baseball player, but I am fairly sure it is not a jockey.
My last job was running the racetrack that is home to the 2d largest racing library in the U S
