Detailed Base Ball letter from 1870

I have attached 6 pages dealing with fall 1870 Tufts Base Ball, untranslated but readable I think. (The full letter is 13 pages plus envelope). In general, the letter mentions all the players, positions, teams played and describes a number of the games. It is written by the club President, John Coleman Allen, to Faber Ashton, who had graduated in 1869.
Teams mentioned are, Harvard, Lowell, Unas of S. Malden, Unas of Charlestown, Somersets, and Unions of Medford.
I have translated it, but would find typing it out difficult. If you can’t make something out let me know.
I would love to hear about anything that might pertain to anyone in the letter.
There is a photo online of the 1870 team, but They are in uniform and the letter mentions they will not get uniforms until spring, 1871. So, I would also like to hear about any photos.
I hope someone finds something of interest here.
Leon, you have me with the photos in the past and I would appreciate any help you can provide again. Thank you AGAIN.

Sounds like an interesting letter but, unfortunately, it’s too small and out of focus as is (at least on my ipad). Hope to see it fully if somebody can tweak your photos.

By the way, I wonder if Faber Ashton is the famous person for which the great Faber College, Kent Dorfman’s alma mater, is named after?

Box from 1871 Game

I have attached a copy of the box with was reproduced in the Harvard Book 1875. The book details all of the Harvards games from the 1860's and 1870's.
Doesn't look like they played in 69 or 70 and as the box shows Tufts was not quite in the crimson's league at this point - though it did only take 1hour 45 to play a 32 to 9 game

Sorry it took so long. Was out with the family. (Deleted the small scans in the first post as they were unreadable.)

Jason, thank you. Now that Leon has helped make it readable, you can see they played Harvard Sophs and Harvard Scientific. You are correct they were not in the same league as Harvard’s best, but there is reference to that team also.
Leon, many thanks again.
