San Francisco Pioneers of the California League?

Three books should give you more info...Always on Sunday by John Spalding, Nuggets on the Diamond by Dick Dobbins and History of Baseball in the California & Pacific Coast Leagues by Fred Lange... Compared to other minor leagues, the early California League has had quite a few researchers spend time looking into the players and teams

The photo on the right is 100% The 1888 San Fransisco Pioneers. If you search for Henry Moore of that team you will find a great article about him that includes that same photo. It should also help put names to the other cabinets. Nice group.

Great group. Is there an interesting back story as to how you aquired them?

Thanks for all the great information on them. Ive had them for decades. Can't remember where I got them from. Maybe one of Barry or Lew auctions. Jay, I will post a better scan of that one after my next bank trip. I want to say they had the P on the uniform so my initial guess was it was the Pioneer team.
