1979 Stop "N" Go Uncut Sheets

I was curious if anyone could give me some thoughts on these uncut 1979 Stop "N" Go sheets. They don't have any data printed on the back so my initial thought was proofs but thought I would default to the experts. Are they rare? Valuable?

Thank you
Scotty

with that back damage, I wonder if they were used for a store display?

That would be my guess too.

Pretty sure you are right. I have a store display that pictures many cards in a sheet like this - I'll see if I can dig it out if I get a chance.

Picked this up a few years ago at a show in Canada. I hadn't seen the store display before - was surprised it featured 3/4 of the set. These were pretty nice looking cards, and were licensed to use the team helmets (unlike the Topps cards of that era).

A display just like that was in a recent auction ...

Great point. I just can't get into 70s Topps football cards due to all the airbrushing of the logos.

This is a great display item. Looks like the three I have were possibly cut down from a sheet like that to advertise for the store. The back damage looks like it might be from a type of two-sided tape.

Here's where I saw it at auction recently. BST in the Spring.

I've never heard of Stop & Go cards. Was this a Canadian issue only? Any Jets in this series I could be chasing?

Thanks for posting the link Jeff. The auction description mentions the same, three panels of 12 cards. I imagine the backs are the same, void of information. Great to see it displayed this way.

Sorry- no Jets players in these sheets.

I guess I really never noticed that some teams weren't represented in the set. I am not sure where Stop-n-Go stores were located, but maybe the player choice was somewhat regional? Lots of Hall of Famers, so maybe they were concentrating on the more successful/playoff teams of that time?

Edit - The internet is a great thing! Looks like primarily Texas based...
