Not vintage but pretty neat in my opinion...

Been a good month so far. I finally got a scene from Citizen Kane signed by Orson Welles.
Also got to meet my favorite band The Flaming Lips and totally scored on signed cds and maybe the best ever "with the band" picture :)

1972 Miami Dolphins signed book

1 Attachment(s)
I grew up in the '70s when it seemed records were being set and broke in every sport. We had Hank Aaron, Nolan Ryan, Muhammad Ali, OJ Simpson & Secretariat to name a few. But one of my favorites were the 1972 undefeated Miami Dolphins. Back in 2002, I believe, Mounted Memories put together a coffee table book on the team featuring an autographed, full page picture of each team member. It was a numbered set of 1972 books. I know these are not hard to find, but they are a bit pricey so I hadn't had the chance to get one until now. There are 50 autographs included, so it is the most autographed '72 Dolphins item you can find as some have passed already. The only living Dolphin who didn't sign was Jake Scott for some reason.

Anyway you can view pictures of it on this link (not the one I bought)

I bet there aren't too many signed Sommer & Kaufmann cards out there and I got it on eBay coupon day too!

Letters with great content always interest me. This one seems pretty cool. I think Busch has a shot at the Hall too.

I finally put my collection online. If autographs interest you, check it out.

No autographs, but recently got these tickets framed up....

mr2686 09-23-2018 09:20 PM

Nice framed tickets James. Do you have the other 55 series games as well?

btcarfagno 09-23-2018 09:21 PM

Not supposed to be buying anything for myself right now but I had to get this. Tremendous early image, bold clear signatures, and quite a bargain.

It's a sickness.

That's how he'd look interviewing Eddie Gaedel. :D

Hey Mike,

Nope...I held on to those two, but sold the rest. I'd like to pick up one from each game and frame them all in a nice large piece....some day:)

Picked this up at the World Olympic Collector's Fair which was held in Long Beach, CA in conjunction with the Long Beach Coin, Currency, Stamp and Collectibles Show. I picked up quite a few uncommon Olympic signatures, but this was one of the best. It is the first one I have owned of her with her married name. I have owned three that she signed as a teenager at the 1932 Olympics. This GPC was mailed in 1951 from Tampa, FL to a collector in Rhode Island.

Gourriel Sr. was a fantastic Cuban player who starred on the international stage and has three sons playing in the MLB today...couldn’t resist for $5...

Hey Jarrod,
Speaking of Larry Ritter and Sam Crawford made me want to dig this out. Love that book!!!

scmavl 11-01-2018 12:49 PM

That was great, James! Thanks so much for posting it! I have a doodling of Wahoo Sam’s from Larry Ritter’s collection framed on the wall. His stories were the BEST. Thanks again for posting that, sorry I haven’t been on here in a month.
