Wow DJ, great way to start the month! Congrats. I am going to stick with Nadja theme, but will post after the National.

Nice haul!

Here's a Crawford from today's mailbag. Partial name at top.

Golfcollector 08-01-2019 09:27 PM

So you guys are who I am up against on Crawford cards! Save a few scraps for me!!! :D:D:D:D:D

Wish I was at the National to see if I could find Crawford items I don't have!

gabrinus 08-02-2019 01:49 AM

I picked up the Nadja a few months ago and picked up the Newsboy today - who says you need to attend the National to buy cards at the National?

pffft, those are just as common as 88 Donruss :D Now that you posted it, I'll update the listing of E92 difficult backs later tonight.

This came in the mail today. I have been waiting a long time to add one of these to my Louisiana type card collection.

I hate to mention PSA in this post, but how can we expect them to catch trimmed cards when they can't even get the name of the set right?

Mothers' vs Mother's.

Picked up the last 4 I needed for my T206 set at the National. Been collecting it with my son for the last 9 years. Started when he was 5. Many of you have helped me over the years. Thank you.

Ryan,

I love the Baltimore News Newsboys set. That Cobb is so awesome man! Nice pick up for sure.

Aaron, congratulations. That is a great story and a great picture. I am happy you have that with your son. I got two of my kids into collecting, but now they seem not as interested:(

One more pick-up. Super rare (pop 2, graded and I believe there is one ungraded one out there). Pretty cool PC, I think. Very psyched

Picked up in a trade in Chicago. Two tiny dots of paper loss on an otherwise pristine back account for the grade. I don’t collect E107s, but the image of Young on this card is incredible and, much as I tried, I could not stop staring at the card.

Incredible taste Jay. That card is off the charts. Worth every penny. Great pickup

oldjudge 08-03-2019 04:40 PM

Thanks Eric!

Bicem 08-03-2019 04:56 PM

Whoa, great Cy!

oldjudge 08-03-2019 04:58 PM

Thanks Jeff. My iPhone photo does not do it justice. In person the image is incredibly sharp.

WillowGrove 08-03-2019 05:14 PM

Jay. Gorgeous.

Big congrats. Enjoy that Cy.

Congrats, Jay. Beautiful card. Nice to meet you as well.

You should tell your trading partner to post his pickup (s) from the trade!

Cheers,
Steve

oldjudge 08-03-2019 06:22 PM

Thanks Peter.
Steve-Good to meet another, albeit a lot younger, grad from the Tute. LOL, my trading partner probably sold all the cards by now.

Rhotchkiss 08-03-2019 07:09 PM

WOW Jay. Totally awesome. Great looking example too. Enjoy that. However, isn’t it a little too modern for you?

oldjudge 08-03-2019 07:58 PM

Hey, I'm a modern guy. I go all the way to 1916.

MVSNYC 08-03-2019 08:37 PM

Jay, great card.

Kenny Cole 08-03-2019 08:49 PM

Jay,

That's a really great card. Good job. I really enjoyed talking to you at the National as well.

Kenny

oldjudge 08-03-2019 09:56 PM

For me at least, the National is a social gathering where every once in a while you pick up a few cards. It was great to see all my hobby friends. Living on the West Coast now I don’t run into many as often as I used to, so that part of the National is really a treat.

charlietheexterminator 08-03-2019 10:35 PM

Rick, Glad to see you got a card that you have waiting for.

Ryan, Great start to August, some very nice pick ups.

Jay, Awesome score, that Cy is a beauty, congratulations 🍾

oldjudge 08-03-2019 11:39 PM

Thanks Chuck

Jobu 08-03-2019 11:43 PM

Holy smokes Jay, terrific card!!!

Sorry that I somehow missed meeting you in Chicago.

oldjudge 08-04-2019 02:40 AM

Let’s rectify that next Chicago National.

I enjoyed my trip to National -- it was nice meeting and seeing everyone that I did.

A dog obviously chewed up and spit out the BL350, but that's fine -- it was a "bargain bin" find, so for once I was rewarded for digging a little. :D

Traded this Josh Gibson photo to Ryan Christoff a couple of years ago as part of the deal where I got the Tomas Gutierrez Oscar Charleston. Bought it back from him Friday at the National.

Rhotchkiss 08-04-2019 09:11 PM

WOW Steve.

oldjudge 08-04-2019 10:05 PM

Kenny— Great Gibson photo!

Kenny Cole 08-04-2019 10:37 PM

Thanks Jay.

Ben, a bunch of nice pick ups, congrats

Hey Steve, that was a great National for you, and a fun time for the rest of us.

Great tinker haul!!

Hopefully I will be able to upgrade this e121 ruth one day. I believe this was part of a collection of e121 cards and this was too fragile to grade, but happy nonetheless:
