Anyone else get the feeling Whitey Ford spent the entire 60's standing at Yankee Stadium in the exact same pose day after day after day???

It's almost like they took the same pic from 61 and ran it until he retired lol

Darren,
THAT is funny.

This is a funny observation.

Now that you've got me looking at it, I think you can add his '59 Topps to the run and maybe make a case for his '53 Topps, though you can't see past his shoulder.

And it doesn't stop there. At least 3 other (non-Topps) issues contain this pose (2 of 3 47-66 Exhibits and '54 Redman Tobacco).

Cheers,

Richard.

Not the same poses or consistency in his Bowman cards

My little girl asked if he was trying to do "the whip".

If you don't have teens then disregard the above...:D

Sure, but that is because after 10 years of standing there, he got tired and his arms moved.

Topps photo editors meeting: "We've got shots of Whitey sitting on a bar stool next to Mickey and Billy, and shots of Whitey on the mound loading up the ball, and then we've got the standard shots of Whitey demonstrating which arm he uses. What are we going with this year?

The B&W picture on his 1954 Topps also looks similar.

I've seen the same type repetition with several Greg Maddux cards
- all about mastering the mechanics.
