Pre War hobby finally getting its due?

Posted By: Mike W
Is it me, or are pre war cards going for alot more than just a few years ago? At least on e-bay, which is what I'm basing this statement from. I see it in T206 prices, Caramel prices, Goudey prices, etc. Is the Pre War hobby finally getting the recognition it deserves or is E-bay simply "found out"? ... I miss the good old days. Wish I took advantage of them more than I did. Maybe we are just so excited to see a real card weeding through all the "scam cards" on e-bay that we're willing to pay anything for them. I don't remember scamming having such an overwhelming presence years ago as it does now.

I've been on eBay since early 1997 and it was an absolutely wonderful place to find great deals on collectibles and also a great place to unload stuff. I used eBay to unload the dead inventory in gaming and comic book store.

The days of finding true rarities for a dime on the dolalr are pretty much gone. It takes some dumb luck and the item being listed in the wrong catagory with a lot of misspellings to get lost on eBay so one bids on it.

Jay

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming --- WOW, What a ride!
