This is fun if you have some time to kill...No cheating!

I got 190...still missed some easy ones.

packs 07-29-2014 08:54 AM

I got 141. Bummer but still beats 87 percent.

cardsfan73 07-29-2014 09:30 AM

159... Missed obvious ones such as Tris Speaker, Mickey Cochrane, Lefty Gomez, Duke Snider, Juan Marichal, Warren Spahn, Pee Wee Reese, Willie Stargell & Robin Yount.. at least these are the ones I am kicking myself for not remembering.

Edit to add.. Knowing my Cardinals Hall Of Famers helped a lot..

the 'stache 07-29-2014 09:32 AM

I got 110. That's my ADD screwing with me. :D

the 'stache 07-29-2014 09:33 AM

God, I'm an idiot. How do I miss Bob Feller when I just got a 1956 Topps Feller in four days ago.

Missed Hornsby, too.

the 'stache 07-29-2014 09:33 AM

Thank you for the quiz, Dave :)

Kenny Cole 07-29-2014 09:35 AM

196. I also missed some obvious ones.

Wilsing 07-29-2014 09:39 AM

Kenny Cole 07-29-2014 09:53 AM

Econteachert205 07-29-2014 10:05 AM

clydepepper 07-29-2014 10:28 AM

149 - cannot believe some I forgot....but great fun!

Jayworld 07-29-2014 10:29 AM

103

scooter729 07-29-2014 10:31 AM

168 - might've been good for another 10-12 more but the boss came in to talk about something, and the last 4-5 minutes expired. Damn bosses getting in the way of my productivity!

darwinbulldog 07-29-2014 10:40 AM

120. I missed Tony Gwynn, Tom Seaver, Pud Galvin... and I was trying to spell Yastrzemski when time ran out.

Matvoo 07-29-2014 11:05 AM

lol, me too on spelling Yaz.

After a while I stopped reading the chart and just starting typing in every HOFer that came to mind.

Scores can also be affected by how good a person is as a typist.

Orioles1954 07-29-2014 12:51 PM

252/256---Missed: Hanlon, Selee, Ward and Youngs.

margoaepi 07-29-2014 03:25 PM

208. Not bad.

AMBST95 07-29-2014 10:08 PM

111, it's hard to type and once done I feel like an idiot

MVSNYC 07-29-2014 10:53 PM

Wow, you guys did great. I made the average score: 94...I was a bit distracted watching SportCenter, so I think time was against me. Fun quiz. thanks.

Louieman 07-30-2014 01:37 AM

124...I was stuck in a zone where I kept imagining Earl Weaver yelling, and I couldn't think of his name...tragic!

I work for an auction house and I do a lot of these quizzes to keep me up on my Hall of Famers. That way when we get a large collection, I can sort through it much quicker....plus, it's very fun :) I also do this for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Not steroids...just practice. As a die-hard Orioles fan....I do the following for fun....

Total blast! Pathetic score, I know the names but can't spel them correctly.

Section103 07-30-2014 12:05 PM

I know this is pathetic, but I kept seeing the players cards in my mind before I could remember their names. :o

h2oya311 07-30-2014 12:42 PM

Really pathetic score of 113 for me. I did it on my iphone, so was at a huge disadvantage. I went from '50s-90s thinking of each player's rookie card to get me going. Then worked the 40s, 30s, etc. started freaking out about time so lost my focus when I got to the 1880s-1920s.

The quiz didn't work so well on the phone. I would type in Ted Williams and it filled in Ted, Billy, Dick and Smokey Joe but only gave me credit for one. I think my score would have been a bit higher otherwise. Plus I was immediately thrown off when I typed in Torre, then Maddux and got no credit for either. That's why they teach you to read the instructions before starting. I lost a minute trying to figure out where I went wrong. Then I started spouting off umpires, which did me no good!!

Good mental exercise for sure. I've tried thinking of all 306 HOFers while driving into work, so was disappointed w/ my results. Especially since HOF rookie collecting is my game. I should know them all inside and out!

Incredible that someone got 252! Nice accomplishment. Did the quiz tell you that you either (a) cheated or (b) work for an Auction House after you finished?

Ha! Didn't cheat....but I've done quizzes like these several times. I have lots of practice. They are very, very fun.

Peter_Spaeth 07-30-2014 01:09 PM

208. :d

That's funny, I did exactly that! Then I stared at it for awhile before I typed in Schmidt, but then the name disappeared so I typed it in again. THEN I figured out what was going on. :D

Wound up with 93, and pictures of another 20 players without names in my head. :o

Pythonfactory 08-03-2014 10:23 AM

You guys are machines. My pitiful score of 99 landed me in the 57th percentile. Key misses include Willie Mays and Rickey Henderson. Thanks for posting this.
