Maradona collection thus far

My favorites are the 79 Industria in which he is leaving three defenders in his wake (including two evidently colliding!) and the 84 Maga Gol (bottom far right), which I think is his best looking card.

One of the very greatest ever and not too expensive to collect. I’m mainly interested in his Argentinos Juniors, Barcelona, and early Argentina cards.

Feel free to share any of your Diegos!

Those are awesome Maradona cards!!!

For a while I was working to pick up early Maradona cards as well, but then my funds got distracted by other projects (mostly collecting vintage Pele).

Below are the cards I picked up. I was especially focused on trying to find all the variations of the card with the same photo as your 1978 Argentina Campeon Libro de Estampas. I have 2 of them and the one you have was on my want-list as well.

By the way, does anyone know the name of the sets the two cards I have are from? Also, are there other early Maradona cards with that same image besides these three? I really don't know Argentine soccer cards very well.

Thanks - yours are on my wantlist as well :)

The larger card is from the 1979 Industria Argentina set, which features a number of Maradona cards, and #220 is from the 1979 Chocolates Torras Millones De Años Album.

Great cards guys. It really becomes more classic as time goes by.

I'm looking for a few Argentine Maradona as well. But he has a great array in Italy and Spain as well.

I have about 25 different cards.

I thought the #220 was from 1980 Hace Milliones de Anos.

Yeah, we’re referring to the same set

Cool. From my standpoint the critical card is Danny (Little Red) Lopez, a boxing HOFer with no other career-contemporary cards that I know of.

I think that art is pretty cool on the Caricature...

Another 1977 along with a 1978 Crack Campeonato Mundial, I'm a bit surprised I've seen more 1977 than 1978 in this thread. I think it shows to some extent how many people accept the 1977 to be his rookie? Both look good for the grade but have minor paper loss on the back. That NM rookie is a beauty!
