Baseball card investment

Hello all. Just curious as a collector of pre war and 1950s-1960s cards, which era would be better as an investment. I have no intention on selling anytime time, but am curious as to what will increase the most in value. Example would be a Sandy Koufax PSA 7 rookie compared to a mid or low grade Ruth or Cobb. Thanks

You sure you dont want a Ohtani Orange bordered superfractor??

Koufax 7 RC or Ruth/Cobb seems like splitting hairs, both are great options. I love HOF RCs but if it were me id probably get more enjoyment owning a Ruth. More iconic. And a Yankee.

Moved to the correct section. As to the question, too new for me to guess.

No one knows what the future holds as far as values go or what cards will explode in value in the future. But if you are going to buy one "big" card to hold long term, you can never go wrong with a playing era Babe Ruth card.

In a general sense, though, pre-war is the way to go IMO because there are far fewer examples of each card than mainstream sets from the 1950s and '60s.

Topps 1952 Tony Bartirome ;)

Regular issue Topps Mantle Cards in 7’s -8’s. With a focus on centering. I would not chase right now. IMO, only mine, people may think I’m crazy but I’m holding cash, Wait Post War Baseball has more room to come down.

Encrypted ? :)

I would go with a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth and a t206 Ty Cobb before any post war cards.

Nobody here knows. We're just guessing. Who possibly knows what people will want decades from now. A lot it too depends on what your purchase price is, these are not commodities and if you pay too much for a card that's going to create an extra barrier to appreciation.

Find the card or set people are over looking right now. There may not be many but I'm sure something will take off this year. If I had to guess I'd say Joe Jackson.

Thanks for all the info guys.

I have to think Willie Mays cards are undervalued at this time. He is 87 years old and his cards have always had value, they just never spiked like Mantle's or Ryan's cards did.
My guess is when Mays passes, his cards will see quite a renaissance and should approach the prices of Mantles in some respects.

Judging by the closing prices in REA for the unissued 61 Topps Dice Mantle and the unissued 66 Topps Mays Punch Out, Mays has a ways to go still to catch up
