Mindless Post of the Day - Becker and Bescher

Working on a T207 set and I continually confuse Beals Becker with Bob Bescher and vice versa. Between the alliteration and the fact that they were teammates for a short while - too much for my pea brain. I keep passing up cards I think I have and don't. Who else do we mix up?

Hey John:

I'll play! I admit that at a quick glance, I often mix up T205s of Bender & Speaker...

Art Fletcher and Al Bridwell. They split time at SS for the McGraw Giants...

Double D’s

Doolan and Dooin for me.

I had to edit my Turkey Red wantlist just yesterday as I thought I had Red when I actually have Mickey.

Doh!

T206 wise:

Agree: Donlin, Doolan, Dooin, and Doolin get me every time :p

Also the players with names starting with SH and SCH mess me up all the time when alphabetizing.

Always confuse Marshall and McElveen. Same red back ground Brooklyn player in throwing motion.:o

My "oddest" is always having to double check Schlei, portrait and Wiltse, with cap. Same NY Nat'l "sweater" and same classic hard, chiseled Germanic features.

It doesn't confuse me, but it confuses ebay: If you ever look up Goode, ebay auto corrects and includes all "good" graded cards. So instead of getting 20-30 cards, you get 1000+:cool:

Throw in Art Devlin too

Those three I always get mixed up.

From "The Great American Baseball Card Flipping, Trading, and Bubble Gum Book":

"You see my problem was that I always thought that Mike de la Hoz *was* Bobby Del Greco. And vice versa. I had much the same problem with Gerry Staley and Jerry Priddy, Joe Pignatano and Joey Amalfitano, Howie Pollett and Erv Palica and Bully Hunter and Billy Gardner. To say nothing of Walter Dukes and Ray Felix -- but of course that's a whole separate problem entirely. So anyway, what I want to know is, if Mike de la Hoz is not Bobby Del Greco, then who, if anybody, is he?"

Joe Jackson and Bo Jackson

Bo knows Joe but Joe doesn’t know Bo

But these guys are the runnerups to

Michael George and George Michael

What a difference a comma makes

No comm(a) meant?

Never noticed but they do look similar....

Not so much with cards, but I always have to do a double take on many photos of Cobb and Joe Jackson.

The two McIntyres,or McIntires or MacIntyres or whatever the hell their names are. If I remember they are with Detroit and Brooklyn respectively.

Becker vs Bescher

Because I sometimes play simulated historical seasons in OOTP baseball on my PC, I know very well that Beals Becker hits left-handed while Bescher is a switch-hitter. Very different.
