Posted By: jay behrens
ok, I was forced by the assistanr moderator dude into setting up a group for the Pigskin Pick 'em on ESPN. Only football I know is soccer and Aussie Rules, but here's the info.

<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/pigskin/frontpage</a" target="_new" rel="nofollow">http://games.espn.go.com/pigskin/frontpage</a>

group name: Net54

password: t207

Good luck

Jay

My place is full of valuable, worthless junk.

Posted By: jay behrens
this is purely for fun. I seriously dislike football and have no interest in playing in a league where I have to put up something of value. If someone wants to submit a card as a traveling trophy like the t206 Chase w/trophy cards for the Net54 NCAA tourny pool, that's fine by me.

Jay

My place is full of valuable, worthless junk.

Posted By: Greg Ecklund
How about using your Thorpe as a traveling trophy? A baseball card of such a famous football player would be a perfect choice.

In all seriousness, how about one of those 1990 Score Bo Jackson cards that used to sell for a lot when they first came out...he is wearing shoulder pads and has a bat. Otherwise maybe a Greasy Neale card would fit - I'm trying to think of other guys that have football and baseball connections. Cal Hubbard would also be a good choice since he's the only one in both Halls of Fame - anyone have a beater of his '55 Bowman?

Posted By: RC
Jay,

Thanks for starting the league. I was trying to spark some interest/ incentive to get more folks in there.

I'll offer up a T216 Virginia Extra Bridwell that is below poor/printer scrap. Winner takes it.

Posted By: Keith
I am definetly interested in getting in the league. I actually don't have any tobacco era cards. I used to have several but I recently sold my entire collection at an auction house in Pennsylvania, and only have a select few cards left. However, I purcahsed a few cards at auction, and since have got the bug back. This website definetly made the bug worse. Very interesting conversations. The only thing I really could throw in is a 1952 Philadelphia Atletics schedule card. It is the size of a baseball card, with purposeful rounded corners. The front has Connie Mack instructing a young boy. The back has the schedule
Posted By: jay behrens
I like the Greasy Neale idea, but not sure how many cards he has. That Bo Knows card would be just fine though. Lee is still working on SGC tot ry and get them to create a special label for the NCAA traveling trophy.

Jay

My place is full of valuable, worthless junk.
