1968 Topps Nolan Ryan milton bradley?

There is a debate across the street if this card is indeed a Milton Bradley. The owner is a member here but I will refrain from saying who it is even though it will be pretty easy to figure out. That and Im sure he will chime in. But this is not for controversy but for my own serious curiosity. I do have my own opinion but will also refrain from stating it at this point. Who thinks this is a Milton Bradley version and who believes it is mislabeled and really a standard issue Topps?

Topps 1968 Milton Bradley

I finally finished this set this year. Here is my MB Ryan and my regular Ryan ( top left).

I think the Cox and Brinkman yellow letter variations listed for the regular 1968 Topps set are just MB cards

Looks Legit, Except...

The coloring sure looks like a MB: orangey lettering (not true red), more contrast in the burlap texture, deeper black ink, the shirt is more cream colored, and more contrast overall. I'm not sure about the back color. But, all MB Ryans have a white line along the left side (near METS) and this one clearly doesn't have it. That's a huge red flag since it'd be impossible for that to be on some MBs and not others.

My *guess* is that it might be a regular Topps card with inks that ran in just the right densities to look like an MB.

I spent the better part of my lunch hour reading that thread. Bobby believes it to be a MB because of the white line on the left border (card horizontal). I believe that white line is just from being miscut.

According to this image I found on Google, the Ryan was the bottom left card on a regular Topps sheet. Therefore, if the card was miscut, it could have a white line on the left border or the top border, but not on the bottom or right border, correct?

The discussion should have ended with digicat's picture. Rich laid segments of three different MBs over the OP's alleged MB. The amount of burlap that should exist within the borders of the next card on the sheet ('67 football) is always consistent. The OP's burlap falls well outside that.

The OP is either brilliantly screwing with people's minds for his own amusement, or he is hopelessly obtuse.

edit: "OP" refers to the thread on CU, not here. It is a forgone conclusion that the OP of this particular thread is beyond obtuse. :D

68 Ryan

I posted my 2 above and believe his back is also consistent with the back of my regular Ryan in color. My MB has the line on the left, and I am no expert on the lines except what I read in the thread. I feel bad for him because I assume he relied on PSA.

I am not a graded card guy. Putting my set together took a long time because many sellers did not know or were mistaken about what they had. I am pretty sure my set is good and complete, but short of buying a full actual game box set, I guess no one can be 100 % sure

Here are 4 different Milton Bradley Nolan Ryan cards.

The white border can appear to the left, right, and even on the top of the card.
