Coaches being fired with no regard to the point spread
Would you factor in the point spread before firing a coach
Team is 2-14 but Against the Spread they are 13-3. Doesnt that mean the team performed better than the experts said. Anyone can say how great a team is but if there is no money bet, to me it means little. Putting money where your mouth is is the best evidence of a real pick If i was the owner, and my coach kept going 13-3 against the spread you would think eventually my team would start to get favored in games..and if he keeps going 13-3 we will be a champion....i just cant see my team being a 7 point underdog for example every week if we keep covering the spread 13 out of 16 times.. Thus, when they say a coach was fired who was 12-40...they should also say what he was against the spread.... heck i would be making so much money betting on my own team that would enough reason to keep the guy around obviously if my team was 0-16 against the spread and won the super bowl i dont care about the spread this year Arizona was 9-5-2 against the spread for example.. |
I don't think so. If a coach sucks so bad that Vegas gives his otherwise decent team seven points I wouldn't give him any credit if his team only loses by six.
