Knowledge needed:Paul Derringer pins/pennants

Hi all- I'm putting out the bat signal for a friend who has 2 items outside
my knowledge base (I know, it's small base:) Both are 1930s items:

1) I know there are Type 1 BF3 (1936) pennants with Paul Derringer, in red
and white. He has a similar item but for the colors, which are black and
yellow. Pennant is 4 inches long and about 2 1/2 inches wide at top.
Can anyone positively ID this black and yellow version?

2) Same friend has a 1933-39 issue pin featuring Paul Derringer again. It's
a black and white drawn (not photo) image of him, identifying him by
full name under the image.

If anyone wants to solve a mystery, I'd appreciate a PM. I can provide
clear images of both in an email, but not here due to my tech ineptitude.

Thank you, Trent King

This is a good question for PerezFan, or Bumpus Jones. PM them with pics if you can.

Also, on Facebook, there is a 1939/40 Cincinnati Reds group moderated by Bumpus Jones. They are extremely knowledgeable.

Can you post pics here?

Hi Tim (Todeen)- I will message those 2 members, thank you. No, no clue
how to post images here, just via email or text. Thanks again, Trent

Trent the BF3’s can come in a multitude of colors so likely just a color variation on the small pennant.

The pin is a little tougher but you may be referring to a 1938 Baseball Tabs of Paul Derringer. These also come in a multitude of different colors but it otherwise matches your description. What size is the item?

I don't think it is a type one BF3. Color is wrong. Please post a picture. Sorry about the size.

Hi Rhett- thank you for this, I will research it. The pin is small, maybe 1/2 inch circumference. There are 2 "wings" on either side of the pin, still intact, which likely
were there to keep the pin place. Trent King

Rhett- I checked out those 1938 tabs. You are spot on! There's no
doubt the pin is from this set. THANK YOU! Trent King

Attached is a photo of Trent's Paul Derringer mini pennant. Hopefully this image helps in solving the question of how to categorize it. I know very little about these, so hopefully someone can chime in to identify exactly what it is.

Thanks!
