For 61 and 62 I organize them like the lower row, for the other years I organize them like the top row. The backs line up better that way in pages.

I wonder why Topps flip flopped them for those years?

Along that note, how do people organize cards in binders that are in the 8 sleeve pages? On horizontal oriented sets (55, 56) I go left to right in groups of two. In vertical sets (52, 53, 54) I turn the binder sideways and do left to right in groups of four.

savedfrommyspokes 11-28-2014 01:01 PM

So Darren, how do you organize your cards in sheets??

Paul S 11-28-2014 01:05 PM

I keep my cards in card boxes, not binders. I line them up where all the card numbers are in the same corner -- I figure that's how the manufacturer meant it to be -- so that when I'm searching by number I can find it easily.

Exhibitman 11-28-2014 01:22 PM

I arrange them by height--hey, it makes sense if you get the cards from Mastro

hangman62 11-28-2014 01:52 PM

that's like the 54T set... you cant align all the cards the same way..the fronts and backs always mess you up !

Always, without distinction, I arrange them like the top row. It is the only acceptable way to do it.

Good, me too! Cards arranged like the second image are like finger nails down a black board for me.

Exactlyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mrmopar 11-29-2014 06:16 PM

I am a top row guy.

horzverti 12-18-2014 09:19 PM

I prefer the top row in the OP too.

However, if you are a stickler and you want to orient your cards per set by their orientation on the production sheets; then:

1957 top row
1958 top
1959 top
1960 all cards horizontal
1961 bottom
1962 bottom
1963 top
1964 top
1965 top
1966 top
1967 top
1968 top
1969 top
1970 top
1971 top
1972 top

Are you a stickler? I am not. :)

I thought the 2 types of people were baseball fans and card carrying commies

Curt-- your post has likely stirred up feelings of paranoia among the OCD types on the board, which may involve the majority of us.

Glad to see it drives someone else nuts :)

timzcardz 12-19-2014 08:35 AM

In the digital world there are 10 types of people.

frankhardy 12-19-2014 08:42 AM

Top row..... No exceptions. Anybody that does it like the bottom row is a cottonheaded ninymuggen.

Mdmtx 12-19-2014 12:32 PM

Heads always left. Always, always, always... Oh wait the back is the wrong direction. NOW WHAT!!!!

darkhorse9 12-19-2014 12:59 PM

Actually there are three kinds of people....those who can count, and those who can't.

I always broke down folks on how they hold their fish pole:

ALR-bishop 12-19-2014 04:28 PM

How to tell

No, no. Fishing poles have nothing to do with it. You have to observe how they eat their corn on the cob. Do they do it across or around.

DHogan 12-20-2014 05:01 AM

Oh great ! Now I have to re-arrange my cards ?

dabigyankeeman 12-22-2014 06:26 AM

I do like the top row, the second row i hate hate hate cards put in like that!!!!!!

PM770 12-22-2014 09:28 AM

I thought the two types of people in this world are those whose guns are loaded and those who dig. (From the end of "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly")

Tomman1961 12-28-2014 03:01 PM

Top row is the only way to go. Bottom row makes me dizzzzy.

I'm in the top half. The only exception is when putting sets together where the back indicates which way is correct for that set.

begsu1013 12-01-2015 06:45 AM

Howard-- that is much too deep a thought for this discussion :)

PowderedH2O 12-27-2015 07:19 AM

I always line the backs up, regardless of the front. So, yes, my 1954 set looks all screwed up, but at least the backs line up.

I also line my backs up so I can read the cards in order. So, my #1 is to the left of #2, which means it is backwards on the front. Yeah, I am backwards...

buymycards 12-27-2015 08:26 AM

fishing

Someone needs to talk to the guy who holds the spinning rod upside down so the reel is on top. I hope the state doesn't renew his fishing license next year.

I'm sure that's how collectors do it in Israel. ;)
