Any opinions on this jersey?

Do you have any opinions on this jersey:

Doesn't look like anything the Brooklyn Dodgers would have worn (The logo style and lettering on the back seem to be off, plus all the tagging is missing).

There was a somewhat similar jersey style in 48/49 but nothing that looked like this.

I think it's an overpaid genuine vintage flannel jersey that has been tampered with, but I'm not a jersey expert, so what do you think?

Oh how convenient...it just happens to be #42.

42 is the chest size.

No thoughts on the flannel. If legit, that's a heckuva hammer price.

It looks blatantly fabricated. The Dodgers lettering and the 42 on the back look like brand new felt stitched on to a vintage plain grey jersey. I am not a jersey expert, but I believe this is a lower quality jersey as well. The possibility of this being legit is slim to none and slim just left the building.

My thoughts exactly...i'm no expert either but the lettering looks like it was sewn on yesterday.

In addition to everything said above, the placement and style of the "Dodgers" script does not correspond with anything seen on actual Dodgers uniforms during the 30s, 40s and 50s.

On all uniforms from 1949 forward the "d" is on the jerseys placket, not the "g". However, there are two exceptions, during the 48 and 49 seasons they wore a jersey that actually had the "g" on the placket, but a different script. And none of these Dodgers scripts have a notch in the "o" either. This image shows the different styles. Also, notice the piping on the sleeves, Robinson's jersey doesn't have it:

I'm pretty certain that this jersey is a pure fabrication. It might be an old flannel jersey, possibly even a jersey that has some kind of affiliation with the Dodgers but the lettering, the missing tagging all speak volumes against it being a Brooklyn Dodgers jersey. At over 300$ the buyer could've just as well bought a Mitchell and Ness replica.

I do wonder if it will pop up on the auction circus again.

In the 1960s similar jerseys (without numbers) were available at my local sporting goods stores, complete with pants and socks. I remember lusting after an Oakland A's one when I was a kid (mom & dad came through for Xmas!) and recall other teams were for sale as well.

The uniforms were not exact replicas, and generally had smaller front logos than the real team versions.

That's what the OPs listing looks like to me, albeit in an adult size.

This also looks "interesting":
