Came across this recently. Notice that Babe is in quotations. Anybody have a clue what it's worth?

picture is too small

brettalan98 07-16-2012 09:40 AM

I figured that, but they won't let you post anything bigger than 78.1 K. The original on my desktop is about 30" wide

If you have an email, I can send you the bigger photo

It is too small to see, and I'm no Ruth expert, but I would be very wary of the authenticity of this item. I have seen several of this type of auto appear in the market recently (an envelope or postcard seemingly unrelated to a player, but with an authentic postmark and a high dollar player's auto in an open space) and all of them have been fakes. Just a warning.

Please post a larger scan or photo of the auto itself. Several people here know Ruth's auto well.

It's worth nothing.

whats the postmark date?

I wouldn't buy it with Leon's money.
Heck, I would not buy it with Jim Stinson's money :D.

Good thing you wouldn't buy it with my money since I have none. Cards, yes.....money, no.

Here's a previous thread about some of the other pieces with COA's from the same group...

The above should close the door on that one. I agree with the posts that suggest a clever method being used these days to forge autographs are old envelopes which can be bought by the boat load on e-bay. Also I have seen BAD signed government postcards WITH POSTMARKS ! So the postmark alone does not insure authenticity

BUT the #1 concern should always be BUY from someone thats been around awhile (Collectors or dealers) and has built a solid reputation with expertise in baseball autographs. Suspect autographs always seem to come from a source that no one has ever heard of.
