Welcome!

This is by far, the most knowledgeable sports card message board on the net.
It is the standard that other boards strive for.

Also, you will be amazed at the kindness of the group.

Rick,

Welcome to the forum. Good to see another fellow Pittsburgher join the membership.

Scott,

Thank you for posting the Glasscock card. He is interred in the same graveyard as my grandfather in Wheeling.

Welcome to the forum, Rick. My name is Bill. It's very nice to meet you. :) I truly think you're going to love it here. You won't find a friendlier, more knowledgeable group of hobby enthusiasts anywhere.

If I may make a suggestion to help you get started, the best way to begin finding answers to the questions you will undoubtedly have is to familiarize yourself with the forum's search function. There's a veritable treasure trove of knowledge tucked away within Net 54's past discussions. So, if you're wanting to learn about a specific pre-war set, for example, you should be able to find a good deal of pertinent information rather quickly. I've also found that using Google is invaluable when you want to go back a little further in the site's history.

If you're not able to find what you're looking for, please don't hesitate to ask for help. I, for one, do not have the breadth of knowledge that the majority of our forum members do, but I've worked diligently to learn about this niche of the hobby since joining a year and a half ago, and I'm always happy to help. I'm usually on later at night, but if you don't see me on, please feel free to send me a message, and I'll answer you as soon as I log in.

Here are three Pirate Hall of Famers, one for each of Pittsburgh's three rivers, to help you feel right at home.

All my best,

Bill

Thanks for such a warm welcome guys. I already feel at home! Also great cards you all posted. I will definitely talk to you guys if I need any info. Would like to get some pre war stuff when I start getting some more money (only 16), so I've been cutting grass, mulching and doing miscellaneous things every weekend. Here's my Clemente PC if anyone wants to check it out

Thanks again!

I have family in McKeesport that we try to come up to visit every couple years.
Next time I do, maybe I will shoot you a note and you can lead me to where I can go for a good card shop.

Welcome from another Pittsburgher (Cranberry Township). The Robert Morris show is in a little over 2 weeks. I hope to see you (and other PGH forum members there). I will be at the show for several hours on Friday and probably Sunday as well.

Again, thank you all for the kind greeting! Kailes: I will be there either Friday or Saturday all day so hopefully I will see ya. I really want to try an get a Clemente rookie if the price is right.

This will be my 4th year. I love it and prices for vintage stuff is pretty reasonable.
