Amazing scene as the crowd broke loose and followed him up the 18th fairway. Nothing like a story of redemption. I can still see those haunting pictures of him at his arrest.

G O A T for me goes, Palmer, Jack, Woods.

I'm too young to have seen Nicklaus, Palmer, or Jones play but would put Woods at #1 based on what I've seen and read. In an era with a lot more competition he completely dominated for a decade. This wouldn't even be a debate were it not for his family issues and back problem.

But either way that was a remarkable tournament and scene. It will be fun to watch him next year in the majors.

I would argue Woods is the golf equivalent of Federer - a decent chunk of his career was spent beating up on a weaker tour. Not saying Tiger wasn't/isn't a great golfer, but when you list out the great golfers Tiger faced on a consistent basis vs. guys like Palmer/Nicklaus, I'd take Palmer's/Nicklaus' competition as a spectator.

Nicklaus had to play against Palmer, Player, and later Watson, that is hardly weak competition. Arguably better than the top competitors Tiger faced.

You youngsters have no love for Jones and Sarazen?
