Where he listed it means nothing as you know, what did he sell it for?

I'm no expert, but does that flip look dicey?

Gotta admit I don't like the font. I just appraised a 1915 CJ Jackson in PSA 6, now I gotta go back and check the serial# and see if it was misappropriated.

The seller is a long time collector. It looks to me like an older generation hologram on the back holder.

I didn't expect feedback like this on my post---my point was how fast the card sold and it was a high end card---I know the seller and he purchased the card over 10 years ago---and he is a seasoned collector in this hobby--the card was purchased from a auction house---I certainly feel the card is good, just a bad scan---but again, since I love Cracker Jacks, it was nice to see the card sell fast.

The listing says that it was "ended due to an error in the listing." Does that sound like he made a deal off of ebay?

They only give you a couple options to choose of why you ended an auction.
" I got a better deal off EBay" is not one of them. But to answer your question... who knows?

LOL, isn't that code for: Thank you eBay for making it possible for me to sell my item. Now as a special thank you I am going to screw you out of the fees you earned by finding a buyer for my card.:D

Aquarian Sports Cards 02-15-2018 06:13 PM

Why not just choose "Item is no longer available?" That's what I pick. Never had any negative repercussions.

I've made deals with Net54 members who were selling on ebay. They generally use the error in listing option after we make the deal. :D

This was my card in the past. The person who bought it from me sold it in the REA 2005 spring auction. I sent it in to PSA originally. Nothing going on with the label. Very nice card and went for a huge price in 2005. Nothing near what I sold it for unfortunately.

Did you know that Ebay can acutally make you pay that sellers fee if they deem you made an off-Ebay sale. I know I seen where it said that somewhere.

swarmee 02-16-2018 02:06 PM

Yep, they added that language about two years ago in an email to all sellers. I'm sure it's in their terms of service. That also goes for stopping live auctions; they can charge you 10% of the current bid before you cancel the auction.

Yes but I doubt they do it in even 1 in every 100k times it happens. Personally I have no problem with a seller ending an auction to sell a item as long as it has no bids. One of my favorite sellers sells on this forum and ends eBay auctions to sell me items on a regular basis.

Hard to imagine ebay managing this kind of event when they are such a debacle on so many levels. I still buy there all of the time but it isn't what it used to be (nor am I.. LOL)......

Beautiful Card

I hope the buyer didn't pay too much higher than the last PSA 7 sale in 2017 for $33k, if he did, he did himself a disservice for not having a registered ebay sale so it would hit VCP.

Nice card either way!

If what your saying is true then the PSA 1's on ebay are 4x markup? I wouln't pay 12K for a PSA 1 if I can score a 7 for 35-40K.
