Has anybody ever heard of TASS "The Authentic Signature Specialists"?

I have an autograph that TASS "The Authentic Signature Specialists" authenticated but I can not find them online anywhere. The website (http://theauthenticsignaturespecialists.com) is no longer active. The email address (TASS.autographs@yahoo.com) is a yahoo account so every red flag is going off (no knock on yahoo but a free email account for a corporation?

I know the saying if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck.....it's a duck. So was I "ducked"?

Thank you for any feedback.

Dave.

Never heard of them. Who's the auto of? I'd post a picture of it here and see what everyone thinks. At least you'll know for sure.

The autograph is of Chic Gandil (from the 1919 infamous Whitesox).

That's a pretty bad looking Gandil, so think that answers the question about TASS. Sorry.

This is what one from Robert Edwards Auction looks like............

That is a horror of a Gandil forgery.
Aside from the authenticator red lights the GPC has not been addressed or postmarked. A major red light there also.

Notice the difference in the two you posted. The one from the auction has more slant, different letter spacing, and has more of his hurried flow. Also, and this is not an absolute by any means, I have personally not seen a 3x5 where he hasn't put his middle initial, and very few are smack dab in the middle of the card (although I have seen maybe 2).

Richard brings up a great point. Non-addressed post cards like that are very easy to find and a very common forgers friend.

I now see the red flags. I purchased it on Ebay so hopefully they accept the return and won't give me a hard time.

Thank you everyone.

People do your homework. It gets repeated over and over, time and time again on here. Check out other autographs of the guy you're looking for to compare. Looks like it was pretty easy to find another one to compare the one you bought.

Dave-

I have an authentic Gandil signed index card available if you're interested in one.

Well.....Isn't TASS the soviet news agency? And it's tradition that anyone out of favor gets deleted from the photo. :D
