Bread Ad (?) w/Girl & Baseball Bat

1 Attachment(s)
hi all~
I've had this for about 20 yrs or so.....it is an off-set lithograph print on a heavier than 60# paper stock, although I would hesitate to call it card stock. Only mark on it is along the bottom....a letter "E" in a circle and the number 355. It measures 12" x 16 1/2".....has anyone seen this before?? Do you think it is an advertisement for a bakery/bread? Any guess as to why this young lady and her bat were used??
Open to any ideas, etc! Thanks...

john

Is that a watermark on the image (I assume it is), or is it a painted reflection on the actual piece, as if the 'photo' was shot through a window or something? If it's the latter, a reversed image may help tell the tale...but it's probably a watermark. Alas.

I think that is a reflection of the photographer on the frame glass.

Wearing a Tommy Hilfiger sweatshirt...glass reflection confirmed.

Bread

It would be interesting to know if that happened to be an ad for Holsum, Mothers', Weil, etc.

I can't make out the letters that are shown over the crook of her arm.

While I am not going to discount it being related to bread, it is also possible that *if* it is indeed an advertisement piece, that it may be relating to the spread that is on the slice.

The answer might be found by taking the picture out of the frame (as I would do moments after the mail arrived if I was interested enough to buy it).
