Looks like the same card from this old Legendary listing. Seller even stole part of the auction description. Link

Looks like they only figured out how to use half of the scanner bed.

Apparently, the final bid should take care of the house payment.

lol look at the bidders

I confess...it was me. I couldn't resist that card for under 6 figures. Nice bidding pattern there.

Babe Ruth Card

Wow! Did that card really sell for 8100.00 in 2004? Nice Profit.

At the end of all this, I would love to see the chain of communications between ebay, the seller and the high bidder.

Brian Van Horn 02-03-2012 10:15 AM

Here is my concern:

The feedback rating in the link on the high bidder is 0%, so I assume it is a bidder that has not bid in a long period of time. The bidder percentage with this buyer is now 100.00 % which is over 70% higher than when I checked on it yesterday.

Regardless of the auction, this is a great card, one that in my mind is far superior to the M101-4/5 Ruth. It is much scarcer, and comes from the same time. It also has a better image.

smotan_02 02-03-2012 10:25 AM

The bidding history makes me suspect too. Zero feedback always raises a red flag, legit or not. If I won this auction, I would be tempted to open a case....$40K is alot of money.
